The war between vampires and werewolves lasted for quite a century, werewolves and vampires had been long-time allies but they suddenly turned enemies when an ancient prophecy said the order of the world rested in the hands of the vampire race but the helper was meant to be from the werewolf race. The werewolf race was angry that they were entrusted with a mini task while the vampires were entrusted with a major task, this began the war which lasted for centuries. In the heat of this war, a new generation arose who did not know about the prophecy or the unending war till it was later revealed. Olivia had been without a mate for a long time, and this gave her a source of concern till she found out that the moon goddess had blessed her with a mate but it was from the enemy's territory. This posed a huge dilemma, would she go with the moon goddess decision or will she make a costly mistake that could terminate the prophecy?? This question is yet to be answered
Olivia's pov
"The werewolves are growing hungry day by day, I think it's high time we look into the matter," one of the leaders in the werewolf council said
"The only solution is for us to open the barrier that's leading to the other kingdoms," another said
"That's impossible, ever since the incident that happened centuries ago, no one has ever thought of unsealing the barrier, it's uncalled for, is there no other way " Kai asked
"That's the only way out of our present predicament"
Sebastian replied.
I looked at the two bickering as I wondered what all these things meant, wondering why an Alpha and a ruler was ignorant of these things - I hated history.
The history of wars, kingdoms, and everything was so not my thing. The sound of the two council leaders sounds far off and I wondered about the well-being of the pack and the possible solutions.
The council became silent as all eyes were focused on me expecting answers.
"Let's go for a hunt in the wild, the feed should be able to last us for a while," I said
There was obvious joy on their faces, I dismissed them as I dragged my tired self inside the chambers. Getting to my room, I saw the door was unlocked. I was confused as I had already locked it before going to the damned meeting.
Satisfying my curiosity, I opened the door to behold a young lady sitting close to my mirror and applying some of my facial care.
Smiling, I headed towards her direction, she was so concentrated on what she was doing that she failed to notice my presence.
"I looked so beautiful," Mia said
"That's an obvious lie" I replied
Mia turned to look at me, shock visible on her face, her big blue eyes stared at me wide-eyed
"When did you get here?" Mia asked
"Over an hour ago" I replied
Mia is a friend and acquaintance, she has a calm look but is a crazy character, She's a beta and she was one of the few werewolves who was interested in history and whatnot.
Her father is a beta who holds the title of a scholar in the kingdom. She's a bookworm who knows the diverse history and their way of culture.
I decided to ask her the question that has been bugging my mind
"What exactly happened that made the vampires and werewolves sworn enemies". I asked
"It's as a result of the ancient prophecy " Mia replied.
"Which is ??" I asked her again
She looked at me, confusion lay in those big blue eyes of hers.
"the order of the world rested in the hands of the vampire race but the helper was meant to be from the werewolf race," Mia said
"Is it that the werewolves were jealous or what could make them fight over such a little thing " the question bugged my mind. I was still pondering over the matter when a hand was placed on my shoulders
"You're okay??" Mia asked, her voice having a hint of concern in it
"Not really," I said.
Tiredness was seen in my deep brown eyes.
She came to the bed that I sat down on and sat down beside me, curiosity evident in her face as she looked at me, her eyes screaming for answers.
"I get it, I'm the Alpha of the pack, I meant to bear the responsibility of the pack seeing to their well-being and their safety, but it's killing me slowly, to the werewolves, I'm the leader who's meant to shield them from all sorts of troubles and whatnot, but I still have my cravings, locked up in a chamber like this is not my thing"
Olivia brought out a paper that had mathematical calculations in it, sighing, she continued
"I don't even know what all this is about, yet I have to put up a front as the brave leader that I am, not allowing anyone to see my weaknesses only my strength, I'm so tired of everything, the throne, the royalty, even the position of an alpha, I am tired."
Mia looked at her as she lacked words to say
Olivia continued
"I'm over a century old yet, I don't have a mate by my side, I guess the moon goddess is playing games with me"
After she finished her speech, Mia said
"Don't worry, everything will be alright".
Mia held my hand tightly as she dragged me out of the room
"Where are we going to" I asked
"You'll know soon" she replied.
Mia took me to an open space, and the fresh breeze pierced through my skin, looking all around there was a waterfall at the edge of the space, the waterfall was a combination of blue and white, blue butterflies gathered around the waterfall as it created a pleasing sight.
"How did you find this place" I looked at Mia as I asked the question
"It was a part of education I guess, I found this place in one of my educational trips" she replied.
I looked at her and smiled, I found peace and serenity in this place, I sat down on the grasses, feeling the comfort of nature, and my black long hair flowed in the direction of the wind.
I turned to look at Mia her expression was not good
"What's the matter?" I asked
"It's unladylike for the ruler of a kingdom to sit on the grass" Mia replied.
"Is it the reason for your facial expression?" I asked
She nodded.
Sighing my brown eyes gazed at her as she bowed her head trembling. Mia could be funny at times, one moment she is playing, the other moment she is respectful, I think all this is a result of reading too many books
"You don't have to do this with me, I'm the one who sat down on the grass, it wasn't your idea but mine," I said.
She raised her head to look at me a smile was seen on her face, and the two of us headed back to the chambers. Getting to the chambers, they met Blake who had a letter in his hands
Entering the chambers, Blake handed a letter over to me. After he delivered his mission, he stood up and was about to leave but my voice stopped him
"Won't you stay for a while?" I asked
"I'm in a hurry, I'll come back when I have the chance" he replied
He left the room as I opened the letter that he gave me, it was signed by the werewolf council and I was required to venture to the human realm to search for a mate, it was stated that I needed to bring in my mate before the next moon.
Bidding Mia farewell, I venture into the human realm to accomplish my mission
