"What action did you expect me to take? You fail to see that I am in a desperate situation," I snivelled, wiping away the tears that were streaming freely from my eyes.
" Alexia stop just stop, yes we had unprotected sex but are you not mature enough to take care of yourself," He yelled,
"Are you lying to me about the promises you made to me?" I trailed off,
Mikel's words rang continuously in my head as I lost myself in thought.
Mikel was my first love, my heartbeat, he was the air I breath and the man after my heart, so I was thrilled to learn I was expecting, but my heart broke when I broke the news to him.
To my dismay, he growled and shattered the wine glass he was holding. I had expected him to be happy.
He continued to walk back and forth in front of me, and I was unable to comprehend what was going on.
I reached out to touch him, but his expression made me quickly retract my hands and wait patiently for his words.
"How foolish can you be to listen to man whose reasoning was clouded by sexual fantasy," He blurted out,
"I took the contraceptive you gave to me but it did not work, please," I pleaded,
Instead of listening to me, he pushed me out and threatened to feed my body to the dogs if I ever returned to his place.
I walked slowly out of his house, remembering the promises he made to me.
Then my mind wandered to the love he professed to me, but it was cut short by his seed in my stomach, which I had hoped would bring us happiness.
But I was disappointed in myself for believing in him and his words; if I had told my stepmother about it, she could have given me some guidelines to follow.
I was afraid that her daughter would poke my nose and use it against me at school, and this is what I had gotten myself into. With what face would I confront my stepmother?
The phone in my hands suddenly vibrated, and it was not just any message, but a message stating that two millionaires had been credited to my account.
I was staring at the phone when his call came in.
I picked it up and placed it on my ear, and the words I heard tore me apart.
"Abort that thing in you, slut," he demanded.
There was lightning before it started to rain, and I sobbed as I fell to my knee. I cried and hoped that I would not be returning home very soon as I walked into the rain.
Since it was a portable phone, I immediately erased the message from the device and concealed it in my underwear pocket.
I continued walking until I arrived at my house, where my stepmother and her kids were staring at me with such intensity that I wished the earth would open up and engulf me.
My stepmother approached me, and as soon as she did, I heard a slap across my cheek that sent me halfway out of the room.
Despite not saying anything, I knew that I had to break the news to my stepmother, who had always been my pillar of support, because she was extremely disappointed in me.
Her eyes were filled with tears when I lifted my head and held my cheek. I parted my lips to say something, but nothing came out.
I plucked up the bravery to ask her for forgiveness and to give me one more chance to make things right, but she ignored me and left.
I could not determine if it was pity or something else when I saw how broken she was. Suddenly, I felt something being thrown against my body and it was my bag.
Sandra had thrown me under the bus, calling me all kinds of derogatory names and demanding that I leave their house.
because all I had done since entering their lives was cause them suffering. Her mother also expressed her desire for me to never see her again.
I stood up and strode over to Sandra, telling her not to call me names again and that she should not make any decisions until her mother returned.
To my face, she said that I was nothing more than a misfortune if her mother had not chosen me out of the gutter.
She then made fun of me for calling her mother mom, well, I glared at Sandra before my eyes moved to the wall.
As I stared at the enormous picture hanging on the left side of the room, her final words to me seemed like a spear to my chest.
I wished my father was present; perhaps he could have helped me out of my situation.
Where would I go if my stepmother truly sent me away? I believe she would give me a chance to explain myself
I had no one to blame but myself; after all, I brought this on myself by believing Mikel's words were true.
I wish I had kept the promises I made to myself. Sandra would not have dared to do this to me, or Mother would have punished her.
I did not believe Sandra, so I waited for Mother to come out and shout at me or say something, but nothing happened.
I attempted to go into the room and talk to her, but her son stopped me and told me that I had won by breaking their mother's heart, who adores me.
I was unable to comprehend why my step-siblings held such a strong dislike for me.
Despite my attempts to foster a closer relationship, our distance increased, and this issue exposed their true selves.
When I attempted to call out to my stepmother, they covered my mouth and threw me in the direction of a moving car which struck me at a high rate of speed.
