Chapter 1 JILTED BRIDE

It was Mid July, a bit too hot for her right now but perfect for their honeymoon later in Hawaii. She sat down primly on the pristine white couch in the bridal room ,in her pristine white wedding dress.

The dress was a tad shinier than the couch she was sitting on and completely covered it. It was a beautiful dress, it's delicate fabric flowing down like a cascade, so that her feet were nearly invisible. The dress hugged her figure perfectly making her look as elegant and dazzling as never before.

Alison loved her dress and it was the very first one she picked when she went to the shop, with her mum and sister.

The double doors to the room opened and her mom and sister, Prisca and Julia Kent walked into the room. Prisca had her hand over her mouth and tears shimmered in her grey eyes as she stooped to hug Alison.

Julia followed suit, sniffing and giggling filling the room.

"My darling girl" Prisca said "You look so beautiful."

She patted her face.

"If only your father were alive to see you now..."she said

"Yea" Julia said "Daddy clearly adored you. He'd give anything to be here"

Mr Raul Kent had died a few years back, right after Alison got out of college. Her father never fulfilled his promise to walk her down the aisle.

She missed him a lot but was grateful for her boyfriend and now soon to be husband who had been filling that void.

Josh Brandon.

They had met while in college and Josh was everything that Alison could ever ask for in a man. Strong, handsome, kind and best of all - he treats her like a princess

Alison can't wait to walk down the aisle, on Josh's arms, and be united with him for the rest of her life.

The double doors opened again and a friend of hers walked in briskly. The heels of her four inches shoes clicked on the tiled floor as she walked towards them, talking loudly at the same time.

"Alison, Josh isn't here" Tonia said, loudly as she handed Alison her bag, containing her cell phone "And the staff can't reach him either. Do me a favor and get his ass out here. It's about time to walk down that aisle"

"Really?" Alison asked as she reached for her bag and brought out her cell phone, turning it on. "let me try calling him"

A new message popped up on her phone. It was from Josh. She opened it , then froze.

"Alison dear" she heard her mum and the others ask "are you alright?"

But Alison was far from alright. She was as white as a sheet. Infact , she felt numb and a bit lightheaded. She almost reeled and caught the edge of the couch which she sat on. Her phone tumbled from her shaking hands and slid down her dress to the floor with a clatter.

Puzzled at her behavior, Julia picked up the phone and stared shell shocked at the message. The others doing the same, gasping in horror.

It was a picture of Josh and her best friend, Michelle. They were both entwined and smiling lovingly at the camera, looking like the world's cutest couple .

As though, they didn't just betray a friend and a lover. As though they didn't just shatter her heart in a trillion pieces.

Julia's hand clenched round the phone in anger. She looked at Alison who was still floundering in disbelief and caught her shoulders in a strong grip

"Alison, that's enough" she said firmly. "Get it together. He's not worth it"

Mrs Kent let out a little wail and sat down shakily, beside Alison holding her too.

Suddenly she couldn't breathe. She gasped as hot tears cascaded down her face.

She picked up her dress and staggered from the couch, pushing the double doors feebly. The others followed suit and tried to hold her back but she shoved them off

"I...I just need a moment..." She whispered, refusing to look at any of them, refusing to acknowledge the pity in their eyes.

She had to look strong. She had always been strong

Even when Daddy died...

But it was really hard to be strong when her heart felt like a million thorns were pricking it

She ran out of the building to the car park, her wedding dress trailing after her. She headed straight for her car, which had been driven here by Tonia, Ignoring her mom and sister, who was trying to catch up with her.

She stopped when she got to the car and stared in disgust at the beautiful decorations on the car and proceeded to tear everything off.

Her mom caught her hand.

"That's enough, dear" she said "Do not hurt yourself".

"Let go of me mom" Alison said, her voice breaking as she jerked her arm off and started the car.

Her mom and sister watched her go.

"She'll be fine" Julie said as she gently ushered Mrs Kent inside. The guests needed to be tended to and somebody needed to break the news to them that there'll be no wedding.

Alison drove like a mad woman, nearly blinded by her tears. She didn't know where she was going but she still plodded with her foot never leaving the gas pedal.

4years.

4years of love and devotion to Josh Brandon, but he took her heart and smashed it to pieces with a few measly words.

"Alison, it was fun. Now I gotta run with a real woman, Michelle whom I've always wanted and whom you'll never be".

He had been cheating on her all over, with her best friend, Michelle Sanders.

She wished they both rot in hell.

It was nightfall when she stopped outside a bar. The twilight Bar, it was called as she could see from the sigh above. She did not know where she was or how long she had driven but she did not care.

Her makeup running down in streaks on her face, she watched people, breeze in and out of the bar, then got off her and went inside, her dress trailing after her.

She slipped on a stool and the bartender stared in astonishment. She looked like a Panda and very much like a jilted bride.

"Let me have a bottle of your strongest liquor" she said

"Uhh.." the bartender said unsure, then he shrugged and reached behind him before placing a bottle of Barcardi 151 in front of her.

It was not his strongest but he did not want no unruly behavior in his bar tonight

Alison had never drank anything stronger than tea in her life but she figured the occasion called for it.

Within minutes she was drunk as a skunk and started dancing wantonly to the music played at the bar as the patrons stared in amazement.

A bride dancing to the 80s classics in a bar was not something you'd see everyday and people were very much amused by her antics.

"Yea!" she yelled as she twirled, missed her foot and stumbled into a hard surface which happened to be someone's lap.

She rested contentedly on muscled chest because everything felt right. Slowly her face was raised and she raised her drunken eyes to meet whiskey coloured eyes.

She was mesmerized at the sight before her her. He had hair black as sin, a chiseled jaw and a sexy mouth on which a slow grin forming.

Looking like a deer stubbed by headlights, she said the first words that came to her mind.

"You are sexy".

Dennis Overton smiled at the blunt remark.

"I know" he replied "and you are just a little tipsy".

Alison shook her head so hard he feared it would fall off.

"You are wrong" she said "I'm a lot tipsy"

Dennis smiled again and assessed the situation.

She was wearing a wedding dress.

Weird.

But what was more weird was his body's reaction to her. He was very , clearly aroused.

He realized the bar had gone silent, trying to see how the playboy would handle the bride.

"Nice dress" he said, his deep voice reverberating and sending shivers down her spine

"Yea" Alison replied "wanna see what's beneath?"

Dennis was no fool and he was never one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

At 32, Dennis Overton, was one of the most eligible bachelor in town regardless of his scandalous reputation. His lifestyle was nothing to write home about but he had built himself from scratch and made himself known both in the financial world and on bed.

He was fascinated with seduction but quickly loses interest after the prey is caught.

It doesn't matter.

There were many preys waiting to fall into his trap.

He had a string of heartbroken girls as long as the Mississippi. He had never fallen in love and doesn't intend to.

Neither had he felt like this before as his traitorous body reacted violently as Alison began running her fingers all over him and saying seductively.

"Now sailor, you said, you wanted to see what's underneath my dress"

Somewhere in Alison's mind, common sense thrashed about trying to get a hold of her but she refused.

She had never felt like this before, this heady feeling like power as Dennis trembled beneath her fingers.

She didn't want it to end and gladly gave herself to the sensation that kept pulling, pushing and finally dragged her to that place where sweet sensations reigned supreme as her lips came up to claim his own.
