"Mine" I said hugging her small form from behind not minding the rain drenching us. "Alex" I heard as Caleb and Jordan approached. "Mine" I growled louder shoving my face into the crook of her neck as I inhaled her scent. I squeal left her lips making me groan in satisfaction. She sounds like an angel. "Alex calm done you're gonna hurt her" Caleb said earning an even louder growl from me. I would never hurt her. "See you're scaring her and she's gonna get sick" he said and I noticed her shivering form. I slowly unwrapped my arms from her and spinned her around so she was facing me. A smile grace my lips as I stared at her she was perfect. My queen. ........ The once peaceful land resembled a graveyard, with the soil stained red from the bodies of dead warriors and innocent people strewn everywhere. The sky was covered in thick clouds, and the rain poured down as if in mourning for those who lost their lives. Amidst the pile of rubble and bodies stood the two Lycan princes, their eyes filled with anger and hatred for each other. Despite feeling weak and tired, they prepared themselves for a fight, unsheathing their swords.
"Enough," they heard a voice say. Looking up, they saw her standing before them, the moon goddess. They bowed, showing their respect for her. "I have granted everyone a partner they are meant to be with for the rest of their lives. Yet here you are, fighting to the brink of death over a woman who is not even your mate and who is no longer living."
The princes remained silent, unable to speak. The moon goddess continued, her disappointment evident. "Look at the mess you have made with your reckless actions. I have decided to revoke your rights to having a mate. I curse you both to remain mateless and alone for the rest of your immortal lives."
Shock registered on their faces as they realized the grave consequences of their mistakes. They raised their heads in protest, but the moon goddess had disappeared.
Sighing dejectedly, the princes stood and went their separate ways, accepting the curse that had been imposed upon them.

Two thousand years later
I opened my eyes groaning in pain from the dull ache I was feeling on my back. I stared at the familiar ceiling of my living room as bits of what transpired last night flashed through my mind.
With another painful groan I pushed myself off the floor and into a sitting position resting my wounded back on the old couch.
I turned my head to the side and noticed my useless excuse for a father knocked out cold on the ground.
It was the usual he'll come home drug, cursing me for his misfortune use anything in sight to whip me till a kind of light engulfs my subconscious and I wake up the next morning with him passed out. Sometimes he has cuts around him which I was sure he didn't have before.
With a sigh I pushed myself off the floor and wavered up the stairs and into my room. I closed the door behind me making sure it was locked before carrying my battered body into the bathroom.
I carefully peeled my clothes off me wincing every know and then from the pain.
I choked in a sob as I stared at my bruised body in the mirror. I couldn't recognize myself anymore. I thought I would be used to it by now but it still hurts.
I carried myself into the shower and turned it on. I shivered when the icey cold water touched my skin.
I turned off the shower and stepped out, pulled an oversized hoodie and sweatpants on. I tied my black hair into a bun and left the room.
I carefully went done the stairs and entered the living room. I brought out a waste bag from our storage closet and threw in the beer bottles and pizza boxes on the floor. I carefully picked the shards of bottles and dishes on the floor and cleaned up the living room.
When I was done I proceeded to wash what remained of the dishes cleaned up the kitchen and prepared breakfast.
Once the breakfast was done I took my share carried a few things I might need and scurried off to my room making sure the door was locked behind me.
Not long after, the sound of heavy footsteps pounding up the stairs echoed around the quiet house earning a squeal from me. I mentally prayed to whoever was watching me he wouldn't come pounding on my door. If he comes and I open up I get a few beatings for unreasonable things and if I don't I'll get triple my daily beatings later.
It seemed like luck was on my side. He blew past my room and stepped into his earning a sigh of relief from me.
I spent the rest of my day coped up in my room listening to his movements around the house. At some point his so called friends came and they stayed for a while. Towards night they grabbed their stuff and left the house including my dad.
The tension in my body eased when I heard the sound of the front door closing. I waited for a few more minutes just to be sure they were gone before stepping out.
I rushed down the stairs switched off the tv cleaned up the living room littered with pizza boxes and beer cans before rushing off to prepare dinner.
I ate my dinner and went back to my room. I went into the bathroom opened the cabinet and brought out my pillsI opened the container and turned the last two pills into my hand.
I went back into my room popped the last two pills into my mouth and pushed it down with the glass of water on my nightstand.
I went over to my closet ripped it open and brought out a little box. I opened it and counted the money in it, It was $10. It would be enough for my meds. I thought.
I grabbed the money and went out of my room tossing the empty pill container on my way out.
I stuffed the money into my pocket grabbed the house key off the bowl by the door and left the house.
I made sure the door was locked before going down the street to the pharmacy. The skies turned dark as little droplets of rain trickled from the sky. I released a breath and increased my pace as the pharmacy came into view.
I climbed the front steps and pushed open the familiar see through glass of the store.I made my way over to the counter and greeted the lady with a nervous smile.
"Hi I'll like to purchase anti- anxiety pills" I spoke softly
"One sec dearie she said and headed to the shelves filled with meds. I tapped my fingers impatiently on the counter as I waited.
"Here you go, that'll be $60 she said handing me the pills wrapped in a white bag. I handed her the money took my change and waved her goodnight.
I walked towards the door but froze when I saw the heavy downpour. I contemplated waiting till the rain came down but decided against it cos Charles might be home before me.
With I sigh I pulled the hood of my hoodie over my head and stepped into the rain.
