Would their love for each other be able to survive this?
Olivia Benette read the letter for a second time. It has been two weeks since her father passed away. Her mother had died at childbirth, so she was pretty much alone now.
The family lawyer had called her this afternoon, and given her the will her father had written. "Everything I have, I give to you. Olivia Bennett. My only child and pride. That's what he had ended the letter with.
She was doing pretty well by herself. A multimillionaire and CEO of a pharmaceutical company. So, how was she expected to feel, inheriting her father's multibillion property and company. She just wanted to mourn her father. He had been hurt by her mother's death but never blamed her. He never married again till his death.
"He wanted you to keep this," said the lawyer, stretching his hand and revealing a ring box.
She recognized the rings. One belonged to her father. The other, her mother. Her father had always worn her mothers ring around his neck. He had passed a rope through it. "Keep her close," he had always said with a sad smile hanging loosely across his face.
She placed the letter, documents and rings into a box. Handling it as though it was a precious relic.
Olivia took a deep, cleansing breath and thought about how Rachel had convinced her to come to this party.
It's been a year now, since her father's death, becoming the youngest female multibillionaire in the world, seeing her face on every social media platforms, several failed relationships she had with gold diggers and watching herself slowly disassociate from the world.
It made her feel like Batman, and her best friend, Rachel, would be her Alfred.
"Olly! Come over here" cried a voice. It was Rachel. You couldn't blame her for yelling loudly. The music was loud.
Olivia made her way to the only 'family member,' she had left. Her best friend. Rachel looked dazzling. The dress she wore hugged her hips closely and matched the color of mask that she was wearing. She was with a man. His face was hidden under his mask but one could tell his body was well built. He smiled, when she had finally gotten to them.
The silence was awkward until Rachel was the first to speak. "I know it wasn't easy for you to come out of your den, bat. But I had to. This is Mr. Alexander Sterling. He's my business associate. Alex, this is my best friend Olivia."
He cleared his throat and moved his hands out of his pocket. "Hi, I'm sure you already know who I am, but thanks Rachel for introducing us," he said. He turned to signal a waiter that held a tray of glass cups filled with champagne.
" No, I don't know who you're. Mister Alexander," said Olivia, with a frown hidden underneath her mask. She knew him. Who wouldn't? Alexander Sterling is the most liked bachelor in every female magazine. He's a multi-billionaire and a CEO of the Sterlings' technology company. Yes, she knew him, but she didn't like men that liked to brag.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean it that way. A drink?" Alex said politely. " This way" said Rachel as she pulled Olivia along with her.
They settled into a table at the private section of the party, made for the executive members of the company only.
" What are you looking at?" Alexander asked. She had been watching a digital clock on the wall, watching and waiting for the right time to leave. " My bad. Just guessing who is who from how they look, talk and their body structure, since I can't tell who is under the mask. It's just a way of keeping myself busy." She lied.
He gave out a soft laugh and pointed at a short man at a table. He had a brown mask on his face. " That guy used to be taller than me, when I was a kid. He was really good at it. I came to him for lessons one day, and mistakenly swung the ball right into his balls. I ran back home immediately. The next day, he had some guys hold me, just so he could get back at me. He never missed" said Alex. He seemed relaxed now.
"Are your umm-you know, okay down there?" Said Olivia as she tried to stop herself from laughing. "Oh! Yes, my balls are okay. I mean I couldn't get it to jerk off whenever I saw my neighbor in her bikini, for a while. But lil Alex healed up pretty fast," said Alex as red color washed over his face. He was blushing.
An awkward silence came over them. "Hey guys. I'm sorry, some guy got really high and started stripping. It was really entertaining.
Now, let's spice things up" said Rachel, as she brought out a small container and shook it. " No, thank you.Come on " said Olivia. Rachel popped the bottle open and brought out some pills. She placed one on Alexander's outstretched hand and pulled out one to Olivia's face.
He placed it in his mouth, and turned to Olivia. "Come on. I don't even usually take this shit. But whenever I do. Damn I see the stars, like those ones in your eyes" said Alexander lazily.
" Just this once. You really need to be happy. I left you to do that task for a year now and you failed. Let the pills help. Not to worry, this is not coke. Just molly" said Rachel religiously. Olivia hesitated for a while before giving in. "Rachel, come help me with this," said a young guy carrying party decorations. Rachel dropped the pills and left grumbling.
"Woah!" said Olivia dreamily. Alexander scooted closer, and stretched his hands to hold her face between them. "Your eyes. Damn stars," he said dreamily. He stood up and began leaving the room, pulling her along with him.
They were now at the beach. Yes, the party was close to the beach.
"I feel so good. I want to get soaked in the water,"said Olivia. Taking off their clothes, and bumping into each other as they raced towards the water.
The water was cold. It made Olivia want to jump out and head for land, but Alexander grabbed her as though reading her thoughts. He pulled her closer and whispered soothing words into her ear.
His body heat kept her warm. She could feel him, rubbing on the surface of her thigh. Stunned by his length, she pushed her hands against his chest to create distance between them.
" I'm sorry. I can't help it in this kind of situation," he said. It was obvious he was embarrassed. " No it's alright. I understand," she said, trying to keep the mood good.
He walked up to her and hugged her. Her head reached his chest. He brought his lips down on hers. He carried her and set her on the fine sand that had been washed off. "Please," he begged. His voice was hoarse and intoxicated with desire. "Only tonight. From tomorrow, I don't know you, and you don't know me," said Olivia. She was trying to hold onto the last thread of her sanity, but this man's hands worked like magic on her body.
"Yes, I agree," said Alexander, sending his lips crashing hard against her nipples. She gasped in surprise and held his hair instinctively.
