The Alpha Revenge: A pawn in his game

Chapter 1

Tears streaked down Aisling face as she glanced at the ICU unit one more time. She sobbed quietly as she shook her head In disbelief, By the gods! This shouldn't be happening to her, not now.

Her sister Diane had been doing just fine until yesterday when she had returned from work and had found her sister lying lifelessly on the bed gasping for breath.

She'd had almost screamed her loins out as panic gripped her, she had hurriedly carried her sister down to the hospital and the doctors had responded to her while she waited outside pacing tho and fro herself from tugging at the doctor's shirt immediately after he came out.

"How is she doing? " she had questioned, fear written all over her face.

"She has severe heart coronary disease and would have been easier if she was brought earlier. Now, I can barely say she's a hundred percent save if treatment isn't administered almost immediately, and to do that we need a hundred thousand dollars, to begin with," the doctor informed her.

Icling's heart sank, where on Earth was she going to get such an amount of money, even her job as a photographer and some other part-time jobs she does wouldn't be able to fetch her such amount of money.

She swallowed hard bitterly and explained her plight to the doctor. She pleaded with him to commence the treatment that she'd go in search of the money but the doctor blatantly refused insisting that he'd needed the money as a deposit to get the required things he needed for the surgery.

Icling had been so lost, it was as if the world had crumbled down before her, Diane was all she had left and she couldn't afford to lose her also just like her parent.

Their parent had died in a fatal accident on their way to pick them up from school, she'd had always appreciated their parent as they had always made sure they come to pick them up together after closing from work. That day, Aisling had waited together with Diane for their parent but they seemed to be delaying. Little Diane who was age ten and was already crying and whining for food left young Aisling with no option than to comfort her younger sister, she had wrapped her arm around her younger sister and had comforted her that their parent would come anytime sooner with plenty of hamburger, upon hearing that Diane had kept quiet and promised to wait since hamburger was her favorite.

After waiting for so long, Aisling herself became worried since almost all children had almost dismissed the school premises and she wondered what must have kept her parent so long, she had it in mind that once her parent had come to pick them up she'd pull playfully at their ears for coming late. But to her dismay, her parent never came until uncle Ryan her Dad's brother had come to pick them up, she had questioned him about her parent's whereabouts but he had come up with something else refusing to tell her.

When they had gotten home that day, she was disappointed as she couldn't find her parent to carry on with the threat that she had in mind. All she had seen was people in black and an ambulance siren blowing, she never understood what had happened until she was of age. Uncle Ryan had robbed them of their parent's property because they haven't left a will behind, that had given him access to claim all their parent inheritance leaving them with nothing. She had ran away from town together with her sister one night after eavesdropping on her uncle discussion with a man on how to eliminate them. Ever since then, she had always work her butt off just to make sure she meet their basic needs.

After lingering In the hospital for a while, she resigned to go home and prepare for work knowing the kind of boss she have, she wouldn't want to miss a day else he would have her salary witheld, even if she'd explain that her sister is lying lifelessly on a hospital bed he'd still be hard-hearted, and she wouldn't want that happening not now that she's badly in need of money.

On getting home, Icling immediately prepared as fast as she could and then she glanced at her reflection in the mirror, she wasn't suprised at what she saw, eyes as puffy as someone that had cried for long which of course she did and dark circles covering her eyes as an evidence that she hadn't slept well. She sighs as she left the mirror and headed outside locking the door behind her as she started walking down to her place of work.

Almost close to the photography shop where she works, her eyes darted towards a coffee shop which has a signposted that reads "part-time worker needed, apply urgently " she sighs and promised to go apply when she closes from her work. She'd do anything she can just to raise money for her sister's surgery after all.

Getting to her place of work, her boss was already in his office and that makes her heart skips as she knew he wouldn't take it easy on her even though she explains to the bastard that her sister is lying lifelessly on a hospital bed.

She hadn't taken a step when she heard his grumpy tone "See me in my office after you settle in" he grumbled and she greeted him almost immediately, nodding her head also.

Aisling watched as her boss walks pass her and she wondered why he wanted to see her, she wasn't too late for work and she prays he wouldn't deduct from her salary.
