The fall air filled my lungs as I walked across the quad, dragging my suitcase along. My heart was fluttering with excitement; I was finally in my dream university which I badly wanted to enroll into. This was it; my first day in college!. As I looked around me, I couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed but I was focused on making the most of my new chapter of life here. Now all that was left was for me to drop my bags in my room and maybe ask for a tour around so I don't give the full impression of a sophomore here.
"Hi my name is Aubrey Paula, I would like a room in this campus as a fall student" I approached the admin of the hostel enrollments in her office. She rarely looked me in the face as she typed loudly into her computer screen. "With your ID number as CGE220?" I smiled and nod with joy as she found my name quicker than I had expected. I learnt finding an accommodation at school was one of the hardest things. "Okay well the regular campus is out of bookings. But lucky you. You have the premier queens hostel"
"Anyone is fine by me" She finally looked me eye to eye and nodded with a partial smile as she slid a card to me. "That's your electric key. It unlocks and locks the door." I was just eyeing the key card she gave me.
"Oh and... It is just one student in your room. Enjoy"
"Awesome" I smiled as I found out to my destination.
"Great. Did you miss your way?" I tore my gaze from the card I have been admiring to the blonde right in front of me.
"Sorry?" I muttered with a frown.
"Didn't you read the name of this hostel before walking in?" She frowned back as she took notes of my dressing for the millionth time.
"I did and it is really obvious that only students who paid for an hostel would be let access into it. Now if you don't mind" I pushed my way through her as I continued my way to room. 'there are probably crazy ladies here too'
My room door beeped open as the beauty of the room caught my attention. It was neat and filled with a sweet aroma. Probably the fragrance from my room mate.
"Finally. I get to rest a bit" I dropped down my bags as I fell on my bed as it bounced a bit.
"Hi there. I wasn't expecting such a beauty to be my new guest" A silky voice came in a moment later as my eyes fluttered open to meet ocean ones staring back at me politely.
'She called me pretty but she.was prettier.'
"Actually I'm not your guest. I'm your new room mate'" I laughed nervously with a smile.
"Oh that's great. My name is Margaret. What is yours?"
"It is Aubrey. So tell me the number of crazy girls who live in this hostel"
"Huh?" She laughed softly as she sat on her bed, taking out her phone as she randomly tapped on it like she was texting.
"Well I must say every lady is crazy one way or the other." I nodded slowly as my eyes narrowed in skepticism.
"By the way I am an official in the students honors program and I would be glad to introduce you as a freshman at our meeting. Do you mind?"
'it is just day one and my day of popularity was close by. Great'
"I mean if it involves no drama" I muttered.
"No trust me, it is drama free. I am not like every crazy you have come across. I might be worse but I control my monsters" We chuckled softly at her statement.
"By the way, some girl stopped me by and asked if I lost my way... Do you hate my outfit?" I watched her frown in confusion and thoughts as she shook her head slowly.
"Let me guess she was blonde and had really long legs?" She questioned me back.
"Well I wouldn't say yes to the legs part but she was tall enough to be a bully"
"Oh yes. I know her. Bayley" She laughed dryly like the name contained venom for her.
"Oh there's drama involved between queens here" I muttered to myself.
