He charged at me, clenched his fist as he came. Never expecting my first hit, I got up and kicked his balls underneath. He groaned in pain and slowly lowered down to his knees. The second man came with same energy, making me grab the bottle of Charles beer and striking it on his bald head, but he paused facing sideways, then turn to me slowly and furiously. He yelled and carried me, throwing me in destruction of tables and glasses. He came almost immediately, and attempted grabbing me again, when I suddenly took a broken glass and dug it in his skull. His eye rolled over as he fell down, lifeless. "Son of a bitch" I spat and rose, but froze when I saw the third man pointing his gun at me. "Seriously, you wouldn't want to shoot a lady? I said, faking a smile "I don't care...Stay down and cool" he said, as the fourth man proceeded with robbing. "Lower your gun, she's still mine" the man I took down first ordered, still recovering from his pains. "You wouldn't want to get kicked again by some lady, do you?" The third man asked. But the man ignored him and poses for a fight, inviting me, to kill him, of course. I ran and jumped on his shoulders, using my elbow on his head and gripping his neck so tight with my thigh. On seeing his man going down, the third man aimed at me but got a headshot from me within seconds. Everyone in the eatery gasped, and babies began to cry because of the loud bang. I could have really used a silencer. I guess that was a coup de grace. "You got a gun on a date, seriously?" Charles asked; his eye wide opened.
"Open up the door, or we burst it open for you...." a voice shouted outside followed by a countdown, even more loudly than the loud siren wailing.
"3......2...."
Dad pushed me into my wardrobe after couple of seconds of looking for where to hide me....then place his index finger on his lips, as I breathe loudly in fear. He smiled and closed the door, leaving me in the dark.
"1..." the voice finally shouted, and just like I predicted, and with my ears shut, our door broke opened and I heard struggling and glasses shattering. Then I heard dad groan in pains. I covered my mouth not to be heard, and trying to peep through a hole at the same time.
I heard them walking into the kitchen, upstairs and bedrooms, clearly looking for me and after 3 minutes, the "All-clear" order was given and the cars drove out, sirens wailing away in the distances.
I sat in the wardrobe, now all down and teary, I really don't want this to happen but....It just had to, because dad told me it will.
I slowly opened the door and walked out from the wardrobe; looking around the damaged room...I picked up my dad's ash-tray and inhaler and sat down.
My face went all red and my view got blurry.
My name is May Matt. I was 16 when my dad got arrested for what I know not and I reckon that is the beginning of my quest to find this missing information about my parents...
