Mitchell Anderson a 29-year-old guy, who vowed never to get married after his ex-lover left him to get married to another man without informing him. Chapter 1 Am I really in love with him

CHAPTER ONE

Ava's POV

"Please help! Anyone, someone! Please help us" I cried out desperately as I also tried to stop any moving car on the road.

Fortunately for me, a black car which I knew should be very expensive suddenly stopped

"Please help my friend, she's dying. She got hit by a vehicle and the driver dashed out immediately after the hit" I told the driver immediately he rolled down his car window glass.

"Alright, don't panic. I'll help you get your friend to the hospital on time" I heard the good man say to me

It was then I noticed that he was handsome and tall

'Ava this is not the time to crush on this young man!!' I screamed at myself inside my head

"Thank you so much, sir, thank you," I said while helping him as we both carried Lily into the back seat of his car

AT THE HOSPITAL

"Doctor please how is my friend doing?" I asked the doctor immediately after he came out of the emergency room where Lily was being treated

"Just relax young miss, the patient is out of danger for now, but we still have to keep a close watch on her" the doctor told me calmly

"Please Doctor, save my friend. I don't want to lose her. She's all I got" I pleaded to the doctor while crying

"Don't worry we will try our best" the doctor tried to reassure me

"But can I go and see her" I said looking at the doctor with a pitiful expression

"I'm sorry, but you can't. She's still in the emergency room. Once she's been transferred to the ward, then you will be allowed to visit her" the doctor said to me while trying to walk to his office

"Thank you so much doctor, thank you" I thanked the doctor excitedly

I felt someone pull me from behind into his embrace

" Thank God that your friend is fine now, very soon you will be able to see her" I heard the good man who brought us here say to me while hugging me

I just turned to look at him, while hugging him tightly because I needed that hug

"Today's Lily's birthday. We were supposed to go to the amusement park to celebrate, but on our way there a car hit us, making Lily conscious. I was so scared that she was going to die" I told the good man while crying bitterly and hugging him tightly

Remembering how happy Lily was to celebrate her birthday, made me feel like I failed her as a friend

"I shouldn't have allowed her to stay at my front, I feel so useless. We were supposed to be in the amusement park now, but here we are in the hospital with Lily fighting for her life" I said crying bitterly

"It's a fine young lady. You don't have to push yourself too much, Lily will be fine" he tried to reassure me to which I just nodded my head

I separated from his embrace while wiping my eyes clean from my tears

"I think I have to go now" I heard him say

He seemed to be in a hurry because he kept looking at his expensive wristwatch

"Okay Sir, thank you so much for your help. I appreciate" I thanked him sincerely

"No, it's nothing. By the way, I'm Mitchell," he finally told me his name

'Mitchell, that's a nice name anyway' I thought to myself

"It's nice meeting you, Mr Mitchell. I'm Ava" I told him while smiling at him

"Oh please, call me Mitchell. Not Mr Mitchell and it's nice meeting you too Ava" he told me while stretching out his right palm for a handshake

"Oh alright, Mitchell" I corrected myself while hand-shaking him as well

"That's more like it, so I'll pay the bills. Okay?" he told me while smiling at me

His smile is so handsome sincerely

"Sir, you don't have to do that. You have helped us enough" I tried to convince him

"No it's fine, I just want to do it," he told me while holding my hands and looking me in the eyes

I felt mesmerised, he looked so handsome

"The patient has woken up and she wants to see a certain Ava" a nurse said from my back distracting us from our little moment

"Well, that's me, nurse. I'm Ava" I said immediately after I heard and processed what the nurse said

"You should go then, we will see some other time. Here is my business card, you can call me anytime" Mitchell told me while handing me a black business card

'Anderson's cooperation!! This is the multi-billionaire heir that everyone is talking about I screamed in my head before I saw him walk away towards the front desk to pay the bills he promised to pay for us, I think

I watched him walk away with elegance before turning to go see Lily

INSIDE THE WARD

"Oh my dear Lily, how're you feeling?" I asked Lily immediately as I walked into the ward

"I'm fine I guess, though I'm still in pain. Anyways, I have a strong head so I can't die" she said while smiling. I know she doesn't want me to worry, but I'm still worried

"So sorry dear. The important thing is that you're fine now" I told her while holding her palm

"Yeah, you're right. So how did you even bring me here? And this hospital seems expensive Ava" Lily said worriedly

This girl is unbelievable, one time she's calm and the other time she's scolding me like she's my mum

'Well she's like my mom anyway' I thought to myself

Lily is the only family I have after my stepmom sent me out of the house. My mom died when I was born, and my father had to remarry when I clocked one year

My stepmom was nice to me at first but changed for the worse when she had her child. My father died five years ago from a cardiac arrest, and since then, I have been living a life full of hardship

Thanks to God for giving me Lily, she's more than a friend to me

"Ava I'm asking you a question!!" I heard Lily say, drawing me out of my thought

"Oh my God Lily, stop shouting. You just got operated on. Well, a good and handsome man helped us. He even paid the bills for us" I told Lily excitedly

"Oohh, a handsome man you say? Wow it's good to know that my Ava now knows what a handsome man looks like" Lily said teasingly

Well I won't blame her because normally I don't call any guy handsome, but for some reason, I called Mitchell handsome

"Stop teasing me Lily," I said blushing

"Okay, I'll stop but what is his name then? Hope you collected his contact number, I have to thank him you know" Lily said hopefully

"Yeah, he gave me his business card. And his name is Mitchell" I told her while giving her Mitchell's business card

She collected the card from me and immediately she saw the name written on it, she screamed

'Yeah, you ought to scream baby girl I thought to myself while smiling at her expression

"You mean to say that Mitchell Anderson brought me to the hospital and also paid the bills??" she asked as her eyeballs widened within their sockets

The way she widened her eyeballs made me fear that they would come out of the socket and roll on the floor

"Please tell me how everything happened from the beginning to the end" she requested of me

I narrated everything to her from how I was begging for help to how he stopped his car and brought us here and how he hugged me to comfort me and blah blah blah and blah

From the beginning of my narration to the end Lily just stared at me with a shocked expression

"He hugged you??" She asked still shocked

'So out of everything I just said, she only picked that line I thought to myself while rolling my eyes at her

"Well, yeah he did," I told her shyly

Remembering his warm embrace made me blush

"Wo-wo-wo, is that you blushing? Lily asked teasingly again

"Am I blushing? I'm not blushing Lily" I tried to deny the fact

"Oh yes, you are, my sweet Ava. You have finally met your first love baby" she said while grinning at me

"What!!! First love?? What are you saying Lily" I denied her statement immediately while acting like I was mad at her

Well, it's the first time I'm thinking about a man intently like this after my ugly experience with a man some years back, but to say I love Mitchell is something else though

Yes, I know that I felt kind of connected to him from the first time I looked at him, but to say I'm in love with him is something I can't just conclude

Suddenly, I remembered his handsome smiling face which made me smile shyly subconsciously

"You see, you're blushing again Ava!!" Lily said bringing me back to consciousness

I looked at her face and I saw that her expression was showing that she was serious about what she was saying
