The owner of their apartment that they had for rent in one of the many small buildings that were located on First Avenue in New York City had called them a couple of days ago to let them know that he was moving out of the country, and that he would give up completely. At once from the apartment rental business in the city, he would start a new one in Paris, which was the country to which he would move with his wife, and he needed to sell his five apartments of which he was the owner and the tenant.
Rose was saddened by such news because she and her husband were happy living in that apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and they even had a small balcony where she used to leave a chair there, take out her cigarettes, light one, and spend a long time smoking until the cigar ran out.
Joe didn't want to move either, but they had no choice but to do so, plus they only had 3 months to get a new apartment, since the lease would expire by then and there would be no way to renew it.
"Honey, have you got any more apartment numbers and photos?" Rose asks Joe, she had been sitting in her balcony chair for about 10 minutes, her cigarette had already finished and she was putting it out in the ashtray that she had on a small table next to her.
It was Saturday, Joe had only had to go to work from 9:00 in the morning to 12:15 noon, after leaving work, he called his wife to invite her to lunch at his favorite restaurant that was downtown from the city, Rose arrived on foot at the company where her husband worked, and I waited for him until it only took him 5 minutes to go down from his office to the first floor of the building.
They had barely arrived home a couple of hours, and they had been locked in it with no way of going out for a walk somewhere because after lunch there was a heavy downpour that made them even take a taxi at the exit from the restaurant for them to have been able to get home.
"Yes, I have found some that fit our budget, and that look quite good, I have already noted the prices and addresses, here I have the photos, do you want to come and see them?" Joe answers without taking his eyes off his computer.
Rose stands up, and walks over to the dining room, which was the place where her husband had sat down to do his homework.
Approaching him, she sits on her lap to more comfortably operate the machine before her.
"Let's see what we have here," Ella Rose says as she looks at the computer screen.
"It is a 4-bedroom apartment, it has 2 bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a room for washing and drying clothes, two garages, a terrace, a social room, and a gym in the building as benefits for its residents" Joe says, taking the initiative to read the information on the apartment's rental offer before Rose did it first.
"The apartment looks very nice, spacious, it's quite good, don't you think?" Rose says while she looked at the photos on the real estate website where they were offering it.
"Yes, but the best thing is the rental price, it's $1,100 a month, it's less than what we pay for this one, which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, we have a balcony, but we don't even have a living room no events, no gym, and we can never go up to the terrace, it's forbidden" says Joe, sounding quite excited at the idea of the new apartment.
"Yes, we agree, but have you seen the other apartments yet?" Rose asks.
"Yes, I have three addresses written down, and three cell phone numbers to call" her husband answers.
"Well, give me that paper, I'm going to call so that we can make an appointment to see the three of them tomorrow if possible, okay?" Rose says, looking at her husband.
"Here, take care of it, I'm going to prepare dinner, do you want to eat something special?" Asks her husband.
"No, surprise me, honey," she answers with a wink in the eye.
"Alright".
Joe kisses his wife's lips, she moves away from his legs standing up to give him permission to leave and go to the kitchen to do his homework, just like she was going to do at that moment after he closed application windows on the computer and turned it off.
Rose takes the piece of paper, and takes it with her to the balcony, her cell phone was kept in one of the pockets of a sweatshirt shorts that she used at that moment to be at home.
She took her cell phone out of her pocket, and while she sat in the chair, she unlocked the screen of her cell phone to get ready to dial the numbers she had written down on the paper one by one.
"Good evening, excuse me, speak to Rose Flyin, I'm calling you because I've seen your apartment for rent, my husband and I are looking for one, and we're interested in knowing if you have the availability so that we can go see it tomorrow at lunch time. day you tell us," says Rose as soon as the call is answered.
"Good evening, yes Mrs, tomorrow I'm in the city, at night I have to go to the airport because I have a trip and I don't know when I can return, would you like us to meet around 11:00 in the morning?" asks the lady on the call with Rose interested on this.
