Chapter 1

Radeon city

"Why does your illness keep getting worse, Father? Why are you not getting up? Why are you just motionless in that position?" Prince Quan held his father's hand tenderly and whispered with sadness as tears streamed down his face.

Emperor Wang squeezed his son's hand in reassurance pitifully despite the pain coursing through his entire body.

He continued, his pale and wrinkled face radiating a great deal of sadness, "Quan, you know I don't like seeing you sad, just be rest assured that one day, I'll be alright, and I'll be strong enough to be the ruler of Radeon again."

"When will that day arrive, father? Will it happen after Mom murders every person in this city? She's just too evil, father, and I wonder whether she's even my mother"

If she remains the Empress, Radeon City will be destroyed "Quan stated while dabbing his eyes.

"How can I help? The tight position is caused by a local rule that states that if the emperor is ill, his wife should serve as the empress until he recovers."

The maid bowed and left, she stopped by the Empress' chamber and made a bow. Empress Hailey stepped into the hall and gave the soldiers in the hall an order to call the other guards and get ready for Choi's execution

"Certainly, your highness, " They all chorused before running out.

"This palace is the most fun-filled palace in the world, so I get to watch another execution today. Shall we go, mother?" Princess Natalie remarked as she stepped in beside her mother.

Empress Hailey grinned, she took her daughter's hand and they walked side by side together "Happy to have a daughter like you Natalie, let's go feed the eyes some nourishment."

As they arrived at the execution site, Choi was already bound to a stake and prepared to be beheaded. Guards and numerous locals were gathered to witness the Empress perform her favorite exercise.

Natalie joined the Empress as she sat down, the Empress signaled for the guards to proceed with the exercise.

"Choi, you took ten pieces of silver, and Meteor tradition states that anyone who steals will be executed regardless of what they steal." The head guard read from a book he held out in front of him.

Choi had already been beaten beyond recognition and was nearly lifeless on the stake he had been placed on.

"I … I…I beg for mercy. I only did that because I'm a poor farmer and my crops were destroyed by the torrential rain last week. I'm really sorry, please forgive me this time and I won't do it again my lady " The poor man pleaded inertly.

"Quit talking, thief! You are not permitted to speak again. Thieves are not tolerated in Radeon.`` Princess Nathalie remarked dryly.

The emotionless blade was delivered to Empress Hailey as she rose to her feet, she took it and moved over to Choi, she took the blade out of the sheath and grinned venomously.

The onlookers gasped; while they had seen such a horrendous scene before, it was always horrific.

Right as Hailey raised her blade, Prince Quan came running into the arena, his eyes widened when he saw his mother's raised hand with the blade in it.

He swung into action by drawing his own sword, hurling it directly at Hailey's sword. It struck it, causing Hailey's sword to fall from her hand and strike the ground in front of Natalie.

"Oh my!" Natalie yelled

Empress Hailey looked with disbelief at Quan.

"You're very rude!" She vented with rage.

"Mother, aren’t you sick of spilling blood? Isn't the plague you brought upon yourself enough? I don't support stealing, but Empress, he was in a very pitiable state that drove him to do what he did. Why don't you just take that into consideration? Choi only stole ten pieces of silver from the richest man in the city, and the man isn't even complaining, but you want to kill the poor man!" Prince Quan vented.

"As the most powerful empress in the world and the empress of the Star, " The empress remarked, "I don't think you're in any place to order me about what to do. Move."

"If you're going to kill Choi, kill me first," Quan stated solemnly, remaining still.

"Are you insane?"The Empress screamed.

"Yes, I am! Your killings are too many; I'm going insane with all that's going on in this city!" Quan ranted

Empress Hailey grinned, she continued to smile and remarked, "I think you're going to get a bombshell."

Choi's agonized scream rented the air, when Quan turned around, Natalie had already stabbed Choi with the sword. Some people hid their faces as others gasped.

"He was meant to be beheaded, but I merely stabbed him, so I kept it simple" His evil sister stated indifferently.

Quan's knees gave away when he observed Choi's lifeless body on the ground with his blood running like a torrent.

Emperor Hailey commanded, "Leave his corpse out here for three days; no one must bury him before three days; his corpse should rot first, and the vultures should also take his two eyes."

"Don't be too depressed brother, will you have some fun?" Natalie remarked, entering with her mother.

As the crowd dispersed, Quan dropped to his knees in tears, just then, Xavier, Quan's protector ran in and stood beside him, he knelt to feel for any pulse in the lifeless body of the poor farmer but found none.

"Oh my! The poor farmer is dead!" Xavier sighed.

‘’The palace is stuffy, get the horse ready and let's leave’’ Quan said simply and walked away.

After an hour of instruction, the history instructor exited the classroom, and the students dispersed because it was the last class of the day.

Derek turned to Madison, "Don't tell me you're heading home already, we promised to eat together after school today."

"We'll abduct you if you refuse, we promise" Maria continued, and Madison grinned.

Her only friends were Derek and Maria. Maria, who was a talkative female and Derek, a boy

"Let's go now, shall we? I don't want to be abducted." Madison remarked dramatically.

Before racing out of the building and into the nearby restaurant, they exchanged winks.

They talked while placing their food order.

"Mr. Akshay , that history instructor, he's simply one dull dude, I mean, his appearance alone is dull, much alone his lectures,"Maria said as she ate some ice cream.

‘’Just admit that you’re lazy’’ Madison remarked

"Oh Madison, you're so blessed; you're gorgeous, cool, intelligent, and have a rich brother, but for me, schoolwork plus social life equals attempted murder." Maria said and they all laughed

Derek squished his face and replied, "I don't question that last assertion, but about her brother, spare me the gist, I hear he doesn't smile or laugh."

Madison nodded as she ate her sandwich.

"Really? Is it real?" Maria and Derek both stated the same thing.

‘’Of course, and he hasn't even laughed with me or smiled at me before; all I can recall of him is his frank face, but even so, he's the best brother in the entire world, and I love him so much’’Madison said, drawing a heart shape with her fingers.

Derek remarked with a smile at how adorable she was.

Maria murmured, licking her lips like ice, "It doesn't matter; I can't deal with a brother like that."

Madison remarked, rising up, "Thank you, I don't care.

"Where are you going?" Derek enquired.

She replied, grinned endearingly, "I have to go to the bathroom," but as she turned to go, she noticed that there was blood on the table.

She truly had something coming out of her nose, Maria and Derek noticed as they turned to face her.

When Madison's eyes started to droop, she lost consciousness.

"OMG, she's at it again, damn!" Derek muttered as he and Isla raced to her.

Justin’s Casino

Many gamblers were putting money on the line to wager on who will win or lose as various types of luck games are being played. Mumbai had the largest casino, thus it was impossible to count all of the players or gamblers there.

Guards were present around the casino, keeping an eye on everyone to prevent fights from breaking out.

And Justin, the casino's owner and the devil himself was in the solitary room in the establishment. He was drinking from his glass of alcohol since he never smokes.

"How many shares do I currently own overall?" He enquired of the employees in front of him.

"You have 500 billion already boss, plus those who are still gambling, you should have up to 800 billion today," John (his top employee) responded.

You may leave, he said.

John and the others departed.

When Karl, his only friend, called on his table-side phone, he answered it.

He answered the phone, "Hi man."

What's up, Justin the boss? Karl answered.

"Are you still coming?

"I believe so, there was an emergency at the hospital"

Just say hello to Kylie, I understand.

You better say it yourself, that maniac," Karl retorted.

Justin replied, taking a sip from the glass, "You guys argued again? Shit when will you guys stop fighting every day, no one will believe you guys are dating."

"whatever!, We love each other like that, but Madison's illness truly has no name; despite my best efforts, I have been unable to identify it. And tests says she’s medically okay’’ Karl said

‘’I've told you to stop troubling yourself countless times’’ Justin retorted.

I simply can't

He ended the call by saying, "Alright Mr. Just Can't, see ya around, I need to pick this call."

Are you calling to bug me once more? He said immediately

"Hyung!, Derek here; Madison passed out once more.

He got up.

Where are you people, screw it, not again?

We're en route to Karl’s Hospital.

I'll meet you folks there, that's cool.

He hung up the phone and ran outside.

As he entered the hospital, women started drooling.

Despite his perpetual frown, he nevertheless manages to be attractive.

He entered the ward quickly and found Karl there already with Maria and Derek.

Madison is dozing off on the bed.

Justin sighed and asked, "What do I do with her?" as he sat next to her.

She'll be fine in a few hours, just like always, Karl added.

Justin affirmed, stroking her hair, "I know."

Maria muttered, "Perhaps he's truly cool like Madison said," to Derek, who only grinned in response.

When someone entered the ward, Justin saw her right away and his face lit up with rage.

What are you doing here, Kendall? He demanded as he stood up.

‘’ I saw you entering the hospital and I know it’s Madison again, hope she’s fine?. Kendall answered, making an effort to approach.

They had a contract relationship for 2 months before breaking it off last year, but Kendall truly fell in love with him during that time and is still not ready to let him go despite the contract. She is actually his ex.

As one of the most well-known singers in Mumbai, Kendall performs alone.

She's fine, as you can see, so move along, Justin said.

Kendall said, "Justin, we need to discuss."

"Derek and Maria , you both need to stay with Maria; Karl take care of her okay?, I have no time to listen to you. I won't be here much longer; I don't believe I can remain here." He interrupted and walked away as Kendall pursued him and yelled his name.

‘’Kendall, I guess she hasn't moved on from him yet" Karl muttered as he left the ward.

Maria responded, "Well, she's his ex."

Derek retorted, "I heard it's a contract partnership for 2 months."

Oh," Maria murmured.

Radeon City

For the first time in years, a sliver of sunlight crept into the old cavern, shining brightly on its lone resident's face.

She opened her eyes when the sun touched her lovely face and looked around for a bit before getting up.

She grinned as she observed the breathtaking scenery all around her.

Her Palm is what drew her attention first.

It has a big MAYA inscribed on it.

"Maya?' She grinned as she added, "Sounds lovely."

She has long hair that is braided into two strands and landed on her chest. She is dressed in a white robe.

She ran naively to the front of the mirror while she was exploring the cave and was amazed by the reflection.

She touched her face and exclaimed, "I'm pretty.

Her clumsiness caused the mirror to fall.

She murmured "Oh no" and knelt down.

Her hand was injured when she touched the pieces.

"Ouch!" She sobbed as her blood splashed onto the cracked mirror.

The broken mirror's pieces magically came back together in front of her as the blood touched them, and she happily took it.

She looked at her wounded finger and surprisingly, the wound is gone, not even a trace of it is left

"Cool!" She exclaimed before leaving the cave with the mirror.

She closed her eyes as a cool wind touched her face and allowed herself to be overcome by its beauty.
