Taming The Cursed Alpha Prince: The Charm of the Werewolf Star

(Lauren's POV)

“And the awards go to” The woman announced, looking at a small piece of paper. Her mouth perked up into a smile as she reads it. “Lauren!”.

Just like clockwork, The crowd cheered and screamed my name. I, on the other hand, couldn’t believe what was happening. I stood up with my hands covering my mouth and noticed that the camera was already on me, following my every move. A bunch of people who were beside me, urge me to go and accept my award as I was still dumbfounded by the whole announcement. Still a bit shocked, I worked my way to the stage. Everything felt so surreal when a lot of celebrities I didn’t know personally congratulated me as I pass them by. It was my first-ever win as a singer-songwriter. Originally, I was more than grateful to be nominated in the two categories: best singer of the decade award and the most played artist on Spotify but never have I ever thought that I would win them at the 85th Annual Grammy Awards.

With a big smile on my face, I gracefully approached the podium. I was congratulated by the announcer who handed me the two golden trophies that looked like small gramophones which looked quite heavy but to my surprise, they weren’t that heavy at all. It was then she guided me towards the mic to receive my speech. I was a bit overwhelmed when the crowd’s attention was all on me. It wasn’t necessarily my first time to be subjected to a huge crowd such as this but this one, This one felt different.

Silence loomed in the auditorium, everyone was waiting for what I had to say. This is what I have been waiting for my whole life. Everything I have worked for has come to this.

I gave them my most genuine smile and draw closer to the mic “Thank you for this great night. I am more than grateful for the love and support I have received throughout my career “ I paused, trying to fight my tears but still kept smiling throughout my speech “ if it weren’t for my parents, friends, and also my wonderful producer. I wouldn’t be standing here with two awards on my hand. And most especially my fans who have given me the world. Thank you” after finishing my speech, I waved my two Grammys as I exit through the stage. I can hear the crowd still cheering my name while the host began to continue the program

Once I have left the premise and was now out of sight of everyone, I quickly ran towards the restroom with the trophies in my hand. I peeped inside the restroom to check whether there was anyone inside, but as expected there was no one but me. It was then I decided to drop my act and be myself, my pathetic self.

I cried.

I cried inside the restroom, alone with no one by my side. I wasn’t crying because of the joy I felt winning the awards but because even all of the success, awards, and attention I have received. I still felt incomplete. I still felt that something is missing and I’m afraid that I couldn’t fill that piece of myself because I never knew who I was. I am a fraud who knows nothing about my being. I don’t even remember my memories of when I was a child. The only thing that I felt I was truly myself is in a dream, which is pretty pathetic if you asked me.

That damn dream! I always hated that dream but that dream was the only thing that felt like it was a piece of me but I never knew why…

[Flashbacks 2 years ago]

I woke up and found myself laying on the floor in an unfamiliar setting.

“Where am I?” I asked myself, Trying to remember if I have been here before. It seems that I was in a forest but this forest was different than the others I’d been on. Everything seems to shine and sparkle. Starting from the trees, plants, insects, and even the mud. Confused as to why everything was sparkly and bright, I decided to just not care about it for now and just figure out why I was here in the first place.

“Are they pranking me again?” I sighed, thinking that my cousins were the cause of all this. After all, I’ve been pranking them non-stop so it was just time for them to hit me back but would they put this much effort into a prank? “Tsk! Whatever, I’m just gonna go home” Once I’ve brushed myself from all the dirt, I started to look for my way home.

It was when a beautiful white butterfly caught my attention. The butterfly who was flying so effortlessly was going in my direction and landed on the tip of my nose. I froze on the spot to not scare the butterfly.

Captivated by the beautiful butterfly, I suddenly hear a soothing voice whispering next to my ear. “ La ziyama kindrezemie vi yuza”

“What was that?” I quickly looked back to see who it was but the only thing I saw was sparkly trees dancing in the wind. “I swear I heard someone” A bit puzzled as to what was going on, I started to feel uneasy about the forest. My concern rose when suddenly I heard a growl echoing through the forest.

The growl was deafening which resulted in me covering my ears from the foul sound. It was something I never heard before but it was certain that the sound came from a vicious animal. After a couple of minutes, the sound stopped. Everything went silent but to my surprise, the sparkly forest was no longer sparkly and bright, Its appearance was now replaced by a horrific and dark color.

“What’s happening?” I said terrified about the sudden change of appearance of the forest. I couldn’t comprehend what was happening and why it was happening to me. The only thing that was on my mind right now was to escape this place as soon as possible. As I step my foot unto the ground, preparing to run. My head started to spin causing me to fall over mid-run. I whimpered on the floor, trying to stand up but it seems that my knees weren’t working. The forest wasn’t the only thing that was affected by the thunderous growl, It also affected me.

As though, My luck had run out. The ground began to shake. I planted my ears to the floor and heard thousand of footsteps coming my way. Panic ran into my veins, trying every possible way for me to move forward to escape the dreadful forest and the impending doom.

In the midst of me inching forward, the ground was no longer thumping and was now replaced by puffs of air circulating my body. My body grew cold but my will to live was still there. As a last retort, I pushed myself to run but was stopped when an animal seems to bite my leg. Stopping me from moving forward.

I looked at the beast that captured my leg. It was a scary huge gray red-eyed wolf. A pack of them was circulating me acting like a barrier preventing me to go any further. “Waaaaaah” I screamed trying to shake my leg off

The wolf only glared at me but eventually let my leg go. “Get away from me!” I yelled and tried to kick the wolf by its head. Unexpectedly, the wolf captured my leg once again but not with its mouth but with its hand. The wolf who was just in front of me transformed into a man. His body was covered with marks of battle but despite the scars, his toned body was still pretty to look at. His face I couldn’t quite comprehend because of the darkness that surrounded us but his piercing red eyes of his were all that was left in the outline of his face.

“Lauren, You are mine,” he said with a grin. The man grabbed my waist and pulled it towards him leaving our bodies no space to spare. He started to squeeze my neck while kissing it leaving love marks on the side. I wanted to scream but was too terrified of what he’ll do if I were to do so.

“Hng, Please stop” I begged but he continued and was now licking my neck. His rough hands traveled my body to my chest and started to play with my nipple. This causes me to moan a little
