It’s morning and every single person in my village is busy with one thing or the other. I smile and inhale the cool air coming directly from the sea.

” Coming throu-gh…” Zee ran pass me and nudge me with her shoulders.

” Zee.” I called out to her.

” Sorry Ali..” she flash a smile and ran away.

I growl and walk pas-s the busy villagers as everyone greeted me. They look happy and I’m happy cause they are happy.

My name’s Alita , I was born a dream walker , a rare kinds of witch. They are known for their rare magic and their abilities. My father’s the village Chief and I’m the last child of my parents since

we’re three . Two older brothers . We’re settled around an island which we call Amazon.

We’ve been hiding since ages after that dreadful activity from the Caucasians , the white skin people. They hate us , they kidnap us with their extremely dangerous weapons that looks like cannons , they called it guns. Burn our island and stole most of us , my father ran away with the

remains and we settled in this island. Basically we’re called amazonians.

Secondly the Indians , they believe in black magic and they think my breeds possessed that.

This Caucasians took most of us away and turn them to slaves , maids , S-x toys and every other terrible thing you can think of. The Indians are worse , can’t explain theirs.

Everybody likes me , maybe because I’m the only dream walker and the chief’s daughter. I smile at the girls who were gathered around the almighty bheka , he’s the oldest man around.

Every single girl is always seen happy, except Akeelah. She’s the weirdest amongst us, always alone and seen in a cave. She’s my cousin , my father’s brothers child. We ba-rely interact and she

doesn’t like me. She said it to my face that I was nothing but a looser , we argue alot and she said that i don’t deserve to be a dream walker and I don’t deserve to rule Amazon.

” Alita..” Elna wave at me. She’s my best friend , we’re likely the same but , she talks a lot.

” You’re up so early.” She smiles and nudge me with her arm.

” Bambi’s practice , oopsi.” I wi-nk at her as she huff.

” You speak like this white people sometimes..”

” bu-mmer…” She growls and sma-ck me a little.

” Race you to her house…” I shout and run ahead of her.

She laughs and run fas-ter to catch up with me. I stop at Bambi’s quarters and pant. I thought I almost lost my breath.

” You both are late.” I turn to look at Elna who gave me one of her sad looks.

” I scolded Alita for waking up so early.” Bambi chuckles to Elna’s ranting as she threw a wood at me.

Bambi is our teacher. Teaches us how to fight. Elna took hers and hold it beside her.

” You’re starting now..” I sigh and turn to look at Elna whose wood was already on the air waiting for attack.

I gulp and set in position.

” Always focus on your targets and concentrate…” Bambi says walking around us as our woods clash in the air alongside grunts and noises of slamming wood.

” In order for you to be a great heroine of Amazon , you must be ready to fight.” She continues with her arms crossed.

I heave for breath as our woods lean against each with force. Elna kicks my leg and punch me in the process. I hiss in pain and move backwards a little.

Amazonian women are fighters , it’s weird the men don’t fight. I toss my wood aside after the long practice with Elna.

” Later Bambi..” Elna says as we walk out of her quarter.

” Your punch hurts..” I tell Elna on our way to , I don’t even know.

” Sorry…” She pull me to herself and caress my arm.

I laughs and smack.

” It’s weird we can’t feel love.” I said to Elna.

” I don’t even know what that is.”

” Moon daughters , born to serve the goddess of fertility and nature.” I sigh.

” You’re okay ? I thought you wanted it. It’s like a call , we take it.” I smile and run ahead of her.

” Alita…” She shouts my name and run after me.

I run to the edge of the hill and dive into the water beneath. Elna groans before jumping in herself. I laugh at her weirdness and splash water on her face.

” You look funny…” I laugh at her.

” It’s not funny , Alita.” I roll my eyes and swim to the shore alongside Elna.

” I don’t want to be the next chief. I want my older brother to rule , I’ve always dream to be out of this island , do something better and civilized.”

” What’s civilized ?” Elna asks. Here goes explanation , it’s always terrible. I swim to the shore and shake my wet self.

” Fine , don’t say it. You can’t run away from your dream , Alita. You were a prophecy even before you were born. Your purpose is to rule Amazon and guide her people..” I nod childishly and sit on a stone.

” Stop lecturing me..” I snap at her.

” Another crazy word. You should stop acting like this white people. We’re blacks….”

“….. And we should always behave like one. screw that…” I help her with her speech. She hiss and sit close to me.

We were quiet for a while till we heard a groan from the bush.

” What’s that ?” Elna ask looking behind us.

” Let’s check it out.” I stand up and proceed to run into the bush but Elna’s grip hold me back.

” Why are you not scared ? What if it’s a wild beast ?”

” Then we’re going to kill it .” I snatch my hand from her and run into the bush.

First thing I saw were stupid hyenas , laughing to nothing. I hate this creatures , naûghty and annoying. I groan silently and twirl my foref!nger as a hint of glow surrounds it. They saw it and ran

away. Good they hate witches .

” Are you kidding me ? There’s nothing here.” I scoff as Elna roll her eyes.

We got distracted by a feet. It was really weird. Elna scream and I held her back.

” pervert..” I said softly and lean towards this foot.

The remaining body was buried inside the bush and it’s covered by leaves.

I hold this feet and dragged it out slowly , it is so heavy.

” Elna don’t just stand there , I nee-d your help.” I said struggling with one feet.

She sighed and as-sisted me , we gently dragged it as a male b©dy gently surface from the leaves. We dragged him slowly till he was fully out.

” What is this ?” Elna ask leaning close to this unconscious man.

” It’s a man.” I said at once.

” Oh , I didn’t notice.”

I looked down at his body , he was badly bruised. Especially his feet and neck.

” What is this ?” Elna ask tou-ching his shoes.

Elna it’s a shoe, they wear it to cover their feet.” I explained.

” Seriously, I think you know too much . How did you you know it’s a .. whatever name you call it…”

” Shoe ? I’ve spent most of my time dreaming inside man’s world and imaginations. I told you before..”

” What are you going to do about this man ?” Elna ask and sm-irk.

” Heal him of course..” I said removing his dress gently.

” Help me with water , the shore is down there.” I said turning to Elna who wasn’t ready to listen to me..

” Ali you don’t help anyone you see , look at him , he’s wearing a strange outfit and shoes like you called it. Who wear shoes except this foreigners who sell our breeds .” Elna said and scuffs.

” Thanks, you’re a nice friend and you’re trying to protect us , now plea-se get me water.” I said taking off his shoes exposing his white skin and feet.

” Eww , look at him, he looks pale.” Elna added and scoff loudly.

” Elna plea-se.. he’s an American,..”

” You see , foreigners , slave sellers, their skin looks so irritating.” Elna said .

” I feel like screaming…” She wail and scream.

I got angry and pinched her. She scream and got up.

” Water now ! I don’t want him to die.” I said and Elna rushed out.

I touçhed his wrist and my eyes change slowly , I was inside his memory. He was bitten by a wild beast and he’s here for an explore. All this white people.

” Hmm..” I sigh de-eply taking a deep breath. I removed my hand from his when Elna returned.

She is holding a jar filled with water. I tears his shi-t and clean his injury. I closed my eyes and placed my hand on his leg , it heals gradually and i smiled.

I cleaned his injury and looked at him, he was unconscious. I healed all his wounds and twirl my f!nger slowly exposing Gold flame that looks like star dust, I gently blew the flame into his face and he breathe out a little.

I chuckled and got up

” He’ll be fine soon.” I said to Elna leading her to the shore.

” So what are you doing with him ? We should go home it’s almost sunrise, you know what that means..”

” Yeah. My father, so horrible.” I said and sigh.

” You can say that if you want.”

” You should do me a favour. Don’t tell anyone about him.” I said and pouted my face.

” Your dad will hate you if he finds out .”

” Exactly , I don’t wanna look like a traitor.” I said.

” Cross my heart , I won’t say a word to anyone. I swear with your spirit..”

” What ?”

” Da, you don’t expect me to swear with mine. I won’t tell anyone I promise..”

I smile at elna and hvg her.

” What are you doing ?” She ask trying to run from my grasp.

” It’s called hugging.” I say to her and hug her more.

Someone coughed behind us and we turned around in fear.

” The foreigner..” Elna called and ran out.

” Elna ..” I call out.

She stopped but she was really far gone. I turned to look at him , he was fine now. He looks fine and beautiful, not like every Caucasians.

” Hey ..” He said and I kept quiet.

” please go away , just stay away from us. If my people finds out about what i did , I will be beheaded and you will die too. Just go.” I turn my back to leave but he stop me.

” Thanks for everything. I’m Dylan , what’s your name ?”

” We don’t tell names , you should leave. If you get caught , we won’t save you.” Elna says out of nowhere. She hold my hand and proceed to drag me out.

” I’m sorry. It’s nice helping.” I smile at him but he stops me again.

Elna growl and I sma-ck her lightly.

” It’s just a minute.” She scoffs and cross her arm.

” I really can’t tell you my name.”

” It’s okay. But can I see you tomorrow before I leave ? I’ll wait here.”

” No , you can’t stay till dawn. Just take your pale skin and weird shoes and leave. We’re getting out of here , now.” Elna says and drag me away.

I turn to look behind me and he’s still there smiling at me. That look , it’s different.

” Alita..”

I ignore Elna and giggles. She bites her lip and toll me on her shoulders like a six years old. I growl and ignore her. My hands dangle behind her back as she continue walking with me on her

shoulders.

” Elna , did you see his eyes ?” I ask batting my lashes at no one.

” It’s a boy..” i said again cause I was ignored.

” Not just a boy , a white boy. Alita , you’re the next chief , act like one .” She scolds.

” Aww.. he’s so dreamy..” I smile as Elna groan s. She hates him , I know. If my people gets to know about him , I’m dead.

I’ll be treated like a betrayer , even if I’m the next chief , I might be beheaded. They stole us , kidnap us and turn us to mistress , slaves , maids and yet I saved one. We’re always vigilant for

any foreigners and now I’ve found one.
