Chapter One ~ A Warm Welcome
Brielle loved her job, as she was a waitress and cashier for a small cafe, Tea O'Clock. Not only did she do it for the money, she loved meeting new people and finding out more about personalities. It was just her thing. But she had one particular person in her mind, Lennox.
"Hey Bri!" Lennox acknowledged, as he walked in. Lennox was one of Brielle's, or Bri, as he would call her, regulars.
"Ah! Hey Len! Just the regular today?" The talkative female asked. Brielle knew almost everything about Lennox, I mean, why wouldn't she? He was one of the most supportive people that she had ever met.
"Oh, is it okay if I try your hot chrysanthemum tea today?" Lennox replied, with a tint of shyness in his voice, "A friend recommended it to me, apparently some people really like it."
Brielle smiled, remembering that he hated to try new things, "Of course! Anything else or will that be all?"
"Ah, yeah that would be it!" Lennox grinned back at Brielle, before speaking again, "Oh by the way, your shift ends in about 5 or 10 minutes, correct?"
"Huh? Uh, yeah! W- Um, why do you ask?" Brielle stuttered, feeling her cheeks flushing a tint of rose. She stood there, wondering how he even remembered that, she told him that 2 months ago.
"Perfect! When you're off, join me! I've been needing so many new book recommendations! Oh! And here, keep the change!" The tanned haired male declared, handing the flushed girl a $5 bill, walking away right after.
Lennox looked up from his novel, "Thanks Bri! It smells really nice and fresh!" Brielle watched as Lennox poured the tea into the cup he was given, how could he pour it so gracefully? Lennox snapped as Brielle's brain broke out from her thoughts, "Oh, there you are! You should take off your apron and come sit with me! Your shift is about over, correct?"
"Ah! You're right!" The toffee haired girl bounced, "Be right back, you can enjoy the tea first!" Brielle instructed him as she trotted away. Brielle felt as if she was a walking tomato, she touched her face, as she spotted her manager, Leonard, or Leon.
"Oh, there you are, Brielle." Leon waved as she walked towards him, "I know that your shift ends right now, but is it okay if you bring over the boxes to the coffee station? I'm a little uhm, busy at the moment..."
"Yes, I can see that you are a little busy at the moment," Brielle laughed, looking at one of her co-workers tying Leon's hair up into pigtails, "But sure, I'll go!"
Not many people knew it, but Brielle was actually quite fit and athletic. She had a huge dream of becoming a badminton player.
Janice, the long-forgotten legitimate heiress, made her way back to her family, pouring her heart into winning their hearts. Yet, she had to relinquish her very identity, her academic credentials, and her creative works to her foster sister. In return for her sacrifices, she found no warmth, only deeper neglect. Resolute, Janice vowed to cut off all emotional bonds. Transformed, she now stood as a master of martial arts, adept in eight languages, an esteemed medical expert, and a celebrated designer. With newfound resolve, she declared, "From this day forward, no one in this family shall cross me."
Lyric had spent her life being hated. Bullied for her scarred face and hated by everyone-including her own mate-she was always told she was ugly. In the previous life, Maggie Johnson was so cowardly, gullible and stupid that she was coaxed by her fiance and stepsister and then broke her legs and lost everything including her fortune, love and even life. However, she was so lucky that she was reborn in the year before everything happened. Since her life restarted, how could she repeat a previous tragedy? Therefore, in this life, she took the opportunity to improve herself and take revenge on the ones who had ever insulted her. Facing the people who had humiliated her previously, she became smart and experienced to break their frames and tricks that had caused her to hurt in the previous life. Finally, no one could stop her pace to amaze the world any more.
Five years ago, Alessia La Rosa's life took a drastic turn when, suffering from memory loss, she wed to Dominic Carter under her grandfather's mysterious arrangement. But their marriage was a facade, bringing her only humiliation and heartache as Dominic showed no love, and she couldn't conceive. Upon discovering Dominic's infidelity, Alessia sought liberation through divorce. Yet, fate had more in store for her. Five years later, spurred by an anonymous email hinting at her lost child's whereabouts, she returns to the city with her twin babies in tow, determined to uncover the truth. As she navigates the tangled web of her past, a surprising twist awaits. Dominic, upon meeting her again, finds himself drawn to the woman she has become, unaware of her true identity as his former wife. Little does he know, the woman he's falling for is not only his ex-wife but also a powerful Doctor and Master Hacker.
Darya spent three years loving Micah, worshipping the ground he walked on. Until his neglect and his family's abuse finally woke her up to the ugly truth-he doesn't love her. Never did, never will. To her, he is a hero, her knight in shining armour. To him, she is an opportunist, a gold digger who schemed her way into his life. Darya accepts the harsh reality, gathers the shattered pieces of her dignity, divorces him, takes back her real name, reclaims her title as the country's youngest billionaire heiress. Their paths cross again at a party. Micah watches his ex-wife sing like an angel, tear up the dance floor, then thwart a lecher with a roundhouse kick. He realises, belatedly, that she's exactly the kind of woman he'd want to marry, if only he had taken the trouble to get to know her. Micah acts promptly to win her back, but discovers she's now surrounded by eligible bachelors: high-powered CEO, genius biochemist, award-winning singer, reformed playboy. Worse, she makes it pretty clear that she's done with him. Micah gears up for an uphill battle. He must prove to her he's still worthy of her love before she falls for someone else. And time is running out.
