"I won't apologize for killing your mate. I would do it over and over, and still not feel any remorse. I guess you just have to deal with it now, yeah," Rania said spitefully to Jihoon. ------- The yearly alpha camp is closing in so fast and Kim Rania, of the Incayon pack, knows she has to make a choice. To disappear and leave the camp before anyone even realizes it, or she could turn the camp into a bloodbath, and then her parents would finally have a reason to banish her from home. She chooses the first option. Everything goes so well until she runs into her nemesis, Park Jihoon, of the Calindra pack, the man she hates more than she hates her suitors. Each night before bed, it's safe to say Rania prays for new tricks to put an end to the arrogant Jihoon who's made it his mission to remind Rania how unwanted she is. Rania has had her wolf for seven years and has never gotten a mate who wants her. Everyone she is mated to, rejects her at first sight, without even trying to know her. Some even tell her that she's a weapon for the packs, and not a person to be loved. Just like Rania, Jihoon is mateless. However, his state, is because Rania had murdered his mate, Yanna, in cold blood, but Rania had her reasons, which, to this day, she refuses to tell anyone. Of course, Jihoon had 'considered' it an accident and the packs resolved to be at peace. However, Jihoon had sworn to push Rania to the edge of the cliff. He would make her pay for murdering his mate. If meeting at the alpha camp wasn't a terrible situation, everything gets worse when the werewolf king recognizes Rania and Jihoon as the top alphas in the kingdom, and sends them on a mission, to make peace with the vampires and bring the captured werewolf prince back home. What could go wrong when the prince takes a liking to Rania, and Jihoon has to keep Rania safe?
"Hey! Are you even listening to me? Whose best friend are you again?" Rania complained as she threw her pillow at Dalrae who was pretending to doze off. She had been listening to her best friend go off about the alpha camp, again.
The two girls had had a long day, and with the alpha camp coming, they knew it was just a matter of time before they were called again, to go and tend to the pack. They were like the mothers of the pack, only this time, they had beautiful titles, the alpha, and her beta.
The alpha camp was a place where the alphas of different packs would come together to discuss about the future of the kingdom while their betas took charge of the packs. These were the places when they could whine and complain about how hard their lives had gotten over the years.
Of course, it was impossible for them to do that in front of their pack members, so they reserved it for the alpha camp.
"Your royal highness, is my sleep really a joke to you?" Dalrae complained, throwing Rania's pillow at the door. It was the same complaints day in and out, and no one could actually blame Dalrae for wanting to glue her best friend's mouth.
She loved her, but there were times when Kim Rania was a pain in the ass, specifically, Dalrae's ass.
"Help me out here, sis," Rania whined, sitting closer to Dalrae. That was the only person she could complain about anything and everything to, and Dalrae would always listen to her, without any trace of judgment.
It was a harsh world they lived in, and Rania having Dalrae beside her, was a blessing to her.
"Like I said the previous hundred times, you can either run away or stay and put up with the arrogant alphas, love. I'm not always going to be there beside you, y'know? Someday you are going to have to learn to function alone my Rania.
"You'll meet so many people, and as much as you may have the intense urge to punch their faces into their skulls, you must practice patience and breathe, love. Breathe, alright?" Dalrae said to Rania who was diligently listening.
Dalrae continued talking and encouraging her best friend, only to realize that the little imp had fallen asleep on her. On a normal day, Dalrae could have spanked Rania till kingdom come, but today, she understood what Rania was going through.
It had been seven years since Rania had gotten her wolf, and in all those years, she had never had a mate that wanted her for who she was. Instead, they rejected her each time, even without knowing her.
Rania was a beautiful and powerful girl who could get whatever she wanted. She had the best weaponry skills, she was a good tracer. She protected her people with her life and loved everyone without discrimination.
Rania was simply a lovable girl.
However, even with her excellent qualities, she had never managed to get a mate for herself.
Seven years ago, she had met her mate, or rather her first mate at the Incayon ball. This was the annual ball held for all the mateless wolves who had just become of age. Expectedly, the Incayon ball was always held on Rania's birthday, because it was the most important occasion.
******
[Seven Years Ago]
The night was beautiful, with the moon shining and what made it even prettier were the people who had shown up to the annual Incayon ball. They were here to celebrate their friends and hope their enemies got ugly mates, but then, in a pack where beauty was something worth noting, it was impossible to find an ugly mate.
At the center of this ball, was a beautiful sixteen-year-old who had a birthday today. She never acted for birthdays, because she always thought they were a waste of time, however, tonight, something about that changed, when she caught a whiff of her new favorite scent.
She had found the one meant for her, her soulmate and she was so excited and anxious about the whole thing. It was understandable though, considering she had been hoping for this for months since she ahd gotten her wolf.
"Dalrae! I saw him! I saw him today!"
An overly excited wolf shouted at her best friend who was just watching her, a genuine smile plastered on her face.
"Hey, hey Rania, calm down yeah? Who did you meet that got you this excited?" Dalrae had said to her best friend who looked like she had the whole world in her hands right that moment.
"Him, Dalrae. I met my mate!" Rania whispered, afraid that if she spoke out loud, she would scare him and he would leave her. They had both heard of werewolves being rejected by their mates, and while it was not right, the alphas had no right to intervene.
Wolves had the right to accept or reject their mates, and the goddess would always give them other mates. After all, the trick was to keep the werewolves functioning. They were her people, so it was understandable.
Rania, in her state, hadn't even thought that it was possible for her to be rejected. So she rejoiced at the idea of having a mate. She was happy and everyone in the pack could feel it. Anyone could tell that the future alpha had gotten her mate.
Some were happy for her, while others were expectedly envious, but they were not envious of Rania. They were envious of the alpha's possible mate. People wanted Rania for their children, because Rania was the perfect girl.
She was diligent and did everything gracefully, not to mention she had a beautiful heart. Rania was love in every aspect.
"Oh, Rani! That's great news!" Dalrae jumped along with her best friend.
She was truly happy for Rania. She knew how much this night and the new revelation meant to her friend, which was also why she wished happiness for her.
Her friend deserved to be happy and she would always be there for her no matter what happened in the future. They had made themselves a promise, to never leave each other, even if they had their mates.
"Where is he?"

However, a lonely best friend in need of a mate and a bunch of convincing later, Tamiko found himself at the entrance of the mating ceremony. As if that wasn't enough, the midnight moon gave him what he didn't want the most. A mate. But not just any mate. Gabe; the alpha's dark son, a man who made it his mission to make Tamiko's life harder, and also the man Tamiko hated more than life itself. As their eyes glowed in the night, Tamiko didn't see a mate, he saw a very rare opportunity; a chance to run, or be the one that Gabe ran from. He chose the latter. To him, they were pathetic beings that needed to be snuffed out, and like a mad king, he made their lives so difficult the only option the wolves had left, was to hide. So when he met Park, one of the strongest werewolf alphas, who didn't take shit from no one, hated him, and who was determined to protect the werewolf race, Agust knew he found his match. What he didn't expect, was for the alpha who hated him so much, to be his mate, and reject him on the same day they met. As if that wasn't bad enough, when his lycans attacked Park's pack, Agust sentenced them to mass murder, an action that triggered a revolution. But strangely, the only thing Agust cared for, was the one man who made him weak in the knees. Alpha Park. Would Agust win both wars?
