Chapter 1 The Fabulous Life of Ava Petrakis 01

The Fabulous Life of Mrs. Ava Petrakis

Chapter 1

"Oh for goodness sake Inigo unhand me right this instant!" I vehemently cried as Inigo's wandering hands continued his onslaught on my body. I would be lying if I didn't find it erotic as he bury his face on my chest, but we had guests arriving in less than an hour and we're still covered in salt water after swimming in the sea.

We're back in Spain at the ancestral Avalon manor. After a full month of our honeymoon, it was only fitting to go back to the place where Inigo confessed his love for me. The beach became our favourite place for it held so many memories.

I didn't know Inigo would marry me again considering we've already had our civil wedding 2 years ago, but over the past 2 years Inigo constantly surprised me. I honestly did not see it coming. Perhaps people would ask me that our honeymoon stage would wear off after being married for 2 years, but they were wrong. We're still crazily in love with each other, and each day was an adventure.

Although we've been quite busy the past 2 years after Emma and Leanne were imprisoned. We focused more on our companies considering we had to build our reputation again. We're still in the process of reclaiming it, but just like any company, we had to make small steps.

One of these steps is gaining investors and portraying a positive light in front of the media. Socialites and businessmen are a bunch of tight knitted people who knew everyone in their circle. They may not personally know everyone, but being in their good graces was needed. It's all just like politics.

Over the past 2 years of being Inigo's wife, I've experienced countless invitations of dinner parties and social groups. These people wanted to go back into Inigo's good graces after shunning him for his scandal 2 years ago. Considering that my company is also venturing out into the fashion industry, they want in. The Petrakis empire is slowly gaining power again, and these people want us in their circle.

One very persistent group were The Haut Monde. It's a charity group run by well-bred ladies. Actually, I thought of them as pompous and spoiled young ladies and wives who only offer their exclusive membership for rich and powerful women. They hide under the guise of a charity group when in fact their only doing it for publicity which in effect will make a good picture of their husband.

Honestly, I can't believe that in this age and time, trophy wives and daughters are still a thing.

How can you run a charity group when you only pick the most glamorous events to help? Isn't charity all about helping the poor, and not using it for publicity?

"You never liked the Society." Inigo gruffly spoke in between my breasts. I let out a moan as he ground his hips on my core and sucked my nipples.

"Yes." I bit the insides of my cheek "But your mother seems to highly praise them."

Inigo finally lifted his head and ended his exploration on my body. His eyebrow raised as he stared me at in the eye, "Are you considering them because of me?"

Yes.

"No." I lied, turning away from his eyes. "I just thought that they may have some redeeming qualities. Besides they are known for their big charity events that drives so many sponsors. It will be good to venture out of my existing charities."

Actually, I am doing this for him. You see I never liked confirming to the archaic rules of the rich. There are still a few who looked down on people like me who started from the bottom, and The Society were among these people. I wouldn't be doing it if not for Inigo. Being a Petrakis comes with responsibilities. The media have gotten wind of my reluctance to join this group, and it didn't bode well with the powerful members of the society.

I wouldn't have minded at all, but it was affecting Inigo's relationship with his peers. His old friends were wives to people in the society and it's not good for his image. They're also painting me as an aloof person. So what better way to quench these by being friends with them?

I know it's quite petty but I think it'll be good to have these connections.

Tilting his head to the side, Inigo ruffled his hair and sighed. "It seems you've already made up your mind." Pulling himself up, he softly grabbed my hand and pulled me as well. Tying the string of my bikini top, he put on my cover and pulled me to his chest. "You don't have to to make friends with people that you don't like."

"Why make enemies when you can have friends?" I grinned at him then kissed him on the cheeks "I'll be fine, Inigo. I'm a tough girl."

"You truly are. Come, we have less than 30 minutes before we arrive."

"Whose fault is that?" I teased him as we walked towards our horses. Looking back, he winked at me and kissed me on the lips.

"Be thankful we have guests or you'd be screaming my name by now."

Punching him in the side, I laughed out loud as he winced in pain and raised in after me.

I really hope this works.
