Today marked the third anniversary of my mating to Alpha Kael. As an Omega, I spent years living on a tiny allowance, believing his lies that our pack was struggling and we had to save every penny. Then I found the luxury boutique receipt hidden in his winter coat. The $5 Rejection That Awakened The White Wolf Chapter 1

Today marked the third anniversary of my mating to Alpha Kael.

As an Omega, I spent years living on a tiny allowance, believing his lies that our pack was struggling and we had to save every penny.

Then I found the luxury boutique receipt hidden in his winter coat.

He had secretly drained our pack's emergency funds to buy a four-thousand-dollar designer bag for Selene, a high-ranking Beta, while giving me a five-dollar plastic music box.

But the betrayal went much deeper than a cheap affair.

I checked the financial ledgers and realized he had transferred millions to buy a massive luxury estate in his dead father's name, giving full control to his arrogant mother.

When I confronted him at the new villa, he didn't even try to apologize.

Instead, he stood arm-in-arm with Selene, while his mother mocked my low-class background and told me I should beg for the privilege of standing in his shadow.

Kael even unleashed his crushing Alpha Command, trying to force me to my knees in front of his mistress.

For nine years, I sacrificed my youth for this pack, letting my own parents work in freezing forests while his mother bought imported silks with my stolen future.

He thought I was just a weak, pathetic pet who would swallow the humiliation because the fated mate bond was absolute law.

He was wrong.

"I, Elara, reject you, Kael, as my mate."

I dropped the Rejection scroll at his feet, severed our telepathic bond, and walked away to awaken the legendary White Wolf bloodline hidden within my veins.

Chapter 1

Elara POV

A Blood Moon storm flung itself against the windowpanes, the sky outside bruised to the colour of a deep, unnatural plum.

The air held the sharp, metallic tang of copper and ozone.

I sat alone at the long trestle table in our dining hall.

The roasted venison on my plate had long since gone cold.

Today marked the anniversary of our mating.

Three years prior, Kael and I had bound our souls to one another under the gaze of the Moon Goddess.

I drew out my phone, opening the private network of the Blood Eclipse Pack.

In this territory, ringed by the towering steel of a wolf-proof fence, the Alpha's will was the ceiling above our heads, and Omegas like myself were taught to study the patterns in the dirt at our feet.

I typed out a small prayer, setting the privacy so only I could see it.

I prayed to the Moon Goddess to keep my mate Kael safe, and to grant him the wisdom to lead our Pack to prosperity.

Just as I hit save, a sharp ringing echoed in my head.

It was not a sound from the room.

It was a Mind-Link, the telepathic connection that allows wolves in a Pack to speak directly into each other's minds.

But this connection felt entirely different.

It carried the scent of ancient snow and a power that set my very bones to vibrating.

Elara, listen to me carefully.

The voice in my head was mine, but older, colder, and stripped of all the softness I carried.

My fork clattered against the plate.

Who are you? How are you in my mind? I asked back through the link.

I am you, five years from now, the voice echoed. The storm's passage has frayed the veil between one moment and the next.

My breath hitched.

Kael is going to become incredibly wealthy, my future self continued. But he is going to betray you. He will choose Selene.

I shook my head, my hands gripping the unforgiving edge of the table.

That was impossible.

Kael was my fated mate.

When we first met, the Moon Goddess gave us the ultimate signs of belonging.

I still remembered his unique scent, like a winter forest mixed with deep earth.

I remembered the physical surge, how my blood seemed to heat and my pulse quicken at the mere sight of him.

My inner wolf had howled that word in my mind: Mine.

He is not attending to Pack territory matters, the voice in my head said, cutting through my memories. He is with her.

A sour heat rose from my stomach into my throat.

I trusted the mate bond completely. It was the absolute law of our kind.

Stop lying, I snapped through the link, and I forcefully slammed the mental door shut.

I cut off the Mind-Link, leaving my head in total silence.

A second later, my phone lit up on the table.

It was Kael.

I answered quickly, desperate to hear his voice and prove the strange hallucination wrong.

"Elara, my sweet mate," Kael's deep voice came through the speaker.

He sounded exhausted.

"I am so sorry. The Pack elders called an emergency meeting. I cannot make it back for our dinner."

I opened my mouth to say it was okay, to play the role of the understanding Omega wife.

But before I could speak, a faint sound carried through the phone.

"Alpha Kael," a soft, high-pitched female voice called out in the background.

My stomach dropped.

My inner wolf, the primal spirit that shares my soul, began to pace restlessly in my mind.

"Who is that?" I asked, keeping my voice low.

Kael cleared his throat loudly.

"Just the Beta guards," he said quickly. "We drank too much Wolfsbane wine during the negotiations. It numbs a wolf's senses. I am totally drunk."

Wolfsbane was toxic to us, often used in tiny amounts to mimic human alcohol.

"The Beta guards are driving me home now," Kael added. "Leave the front door unlocked for me, okay?"

"Okay," I whispered.

He hung up.

I sat in the dark dining room for a very long time.

A heavy, suffocating silence pressed down on my chest.

I felt a slow, shearing sensation deep in my soul, a blankness that left me cold.

Suddenly, the cold mental connection forced its way past my barriers.

You heard her, didn't you? my future self asked through the Mind-Link.

I squeezed my eyes shut, a hot pressure building behind them.

Go to the hall closet, the voice commanded. Find his old winter cloak. The one from our wandering days. Check the pockets.

I stood up, my legs feeling like lead. The girl who had knelt to pray for him was still frozen at that table. The woman I was becoming had already begun to hunt.
