Everyone thought the divorced couple would hate each other and go their separate ways after signing the papers. Even she thought so too, but when she won an award for the Best Screenplay later, a distant nobleman had presented her with the trophy instead. In a voice so low that only they could hear, he pleaded with her to accept him again since he never appreciated her during their marriage. She politely rejected him with a smile on the grounds that her only focus was on her career, but the man found himself pleading with lonely eyes that he regretted the divorce. Then, she cynically turned to the man and wondered whether he was playing a joke on her because her career was more important and he still wanted to live in the past.

Our Past Lov Chapter 16 He Misunderstood Her

A look of utter disbelief formed on Trevor's face after he heard Christopher's words. So, Grandpa is the one who arranged for us to meet. I thought Emma was the one who tried to use Grandpa to get close to me. Trevor's gaze landed on the gift that Emma had left by the side. I thought that she was buying that old-fashioned scarf for that guy, Adam, so I mocked her earlier. But this color really suits Grandpa…

Trevor didn't know how he felt about misunderstanding Emma not once, but twice. He pressed his lips together in frustration before he turned to walk out of the house. He found Emma standing outside the house with her head lowered as she tapped on her phone screen to order a cab. Christopher stayed in the mid-hills area, so there weren't a lot of cabs driving around. "It's hard to get a cab to come here. Let me send you back," Trevor offered as he walked up to her.

Both of them had been in each other's lives for the past four years or so, yet this was the first time that Trevor had shown any sign of kindness to Emma. In the past, whenever they had any conflicts or arguments, Emma would always be the one to give in first. If she didn't speak up to break the silence between them, Trevor would just continue with the cold war forever. Emma couldn't stand such tension in the air, so she would always be the one to compromise.

Our Past Lov Chapter 17 Finding Emma a Good Man

After Trevor got back to Christopher's house, Christopher got straight to his point the moment the young man sat down at the dining table. "Have you decided on a wedding date?" Naturally, Christopher was referring to Trevor and Crystal's wedding date. Crystal had started showing up at the Bateson Residence ever since Emma and Trevor got a divorce. Even though Trevor had never explicitly stated anything about Crystal, the whole family assumed that they were dating one another.

This was mainly due to Crystal's excessive promotion of how sweet her relationship with Trevor was. She often spoke as if they were about to get married any time soon. That was why Christopher was surprised to hear Trevor's answer. "No."

"Hurry up and get it over with," Christopher ordered. Trevor glared at his old man upon hearing this. Truth was, Christopher had never been a fan of Crystal. Crystal was relatively closer to Trevor's mother at home, but Christopher had never once looked Crystal in the eye. He clearly didn't approve of the woman. Therefore, Trevor felt rather puzzled and frustrated to have Christopher, out of all people, rushing him to get married.

Our Past Love Chapter 18 Younger Men Are Good

On the other end of the call, Zachary spread his lips into a sweet smile. "Oh, that's perfect! Which girl is this? I bet your taste in women is great, Old Mr. Christopher. I'll meet any girl you recommend to me."

Trevor's expression turned grimmer than before. He practically wanted to step on Zachary's face and crush his friend's skull. "Well, what do you think of Emma?" Christopher asked. Bang! A loud noise came from the other end of the line, followed by Zachary's loud wail. "F*ck! That burned!" After moments of chaos, Zachary's voice came from the other end of the call. "Sorry, Old Mr. Christopher. I spilled some coffee earlier. I didn't catch what you said. Can you repeat yourself?"

Christopher was no longer as patient as before. "I said I want to introduce you to Emma," he uttered in a flat tone.

"Uh… Old Mr. Christopher. I'm afraid I just got a new girlfriend, so I don't think it'd be nice to cheat on her," Zachary replied. Christopher was speechless for a moment. Didn't he just happily say that he would meet any girl I introduced to him? "I have other matters to handle, Old Mr. Christopher. I'll talk to you another day. I'll visit you soon, okay?" Zachary frantically ended the call after that, prompting Christopher to throw his phone aside with a grumpy look on his face.

Trevor, on the other hand, seemed a little more pleased. "You don't have to worry about her. She might already have a boyfriend," Trevor muttered after he gracefully ate a spoonful of his meal.

Our Past Love Chapter 19 No More Tolerating

Susanna had spent most of her recent days filming on set in Jonestown. Emma went to visit her scriptwriting teacher, Eleanor Dawson while visiting Susanna on one of her filming days. Being a scriptwriter wasn't as easy as it sounded—one couldn’t just come up with the script for an entire movie after learning about scriptwriting. Ever since Susanna got Emma into this industry, Emma had been learning under Eleanor. Just drafting the overall storyline of the script took Emma two years to master, and she later proceeded to split the script into its individual scenes before learning how to develop scripts on her own.

Emma had started working on all of this since she got married to Trevor. Fortunately, this job didn't require her to go to work, so she still managed to fulfill her duties as Trevor's wife while maintaining a tiny hobby of her own. After receiving the most recent job from Wesley, Emma felt like she couldn't handle things on her own, so she figured that she would get Wesley to hire Eleanor as the lead scriptwriter, while Emma worked under Eleanor to deal with the easier tasks.

However, both Wesley and Eleanor agreed that Emma was ready to be the sole scriptwriter of a project after four years of training. Their acknowledgment and support gave Emma a lot of confidence.

Our Past Love Chapter 20 As Despicable as Always

Emma felt like ignoring Arianna, so she simply focused on having a taste of the coffee that she had made for her and Susanna. However, even though Emma was trying to steer away from trouble, Arianna clearly didn't think the same. When Arianna saw how Emma had completely ignored her, she placed her arms on her waist while storming over to stand in front of Emma and Susanna's table. "Hey! Did you turn deaf after going abroad for one year?"

Arianna was used to speaking as if she were a level above Emma, and she was used to addressing Emma in a rude tone. She had completely forgotten how Emma wasn't related to her at all after Emma's divorce. In other words, Emma was no longer obligated to tolerate Arianna's terrible temper. Emma sat firmly in her spot as she looked up and gazed at Arianna. "I do think I've changed, but it seems like you haven't changed at all, Miss Bateson."

Emma shot a glare at Arianna's arrogant face as she enunciated clearly, "You're still as despicable as always."
