When Xander turned a year old, I went back to school. I was freelancing and active with my photography. I was studying part-time, and finally, I graduated, and I couldn't find a job. I also wanted to improve my photography and videography skills. Xander and I agreed to go visit one of the shelters every Saturday morning. Xander was now four years old, and he was such a sweet little boy. Because I didn't have a car, I leased a studio near his school to take him to pre-school every morning and pick him up every day. Alex and Chloe married last year and bought a house. On Saturday, Chloe and Alex were hosting a barbecue, and we were invited. We took a cab to Alex and Chloe's home after visiting the shelter with Xander. We were the only ones there, with the exception of a few of Alex's friends. Since we were always looked down on as orphans, Chloe and I have never been very good at making friends. Due to the inclement weather outside, we chose to stay indoors and watch television. Xander was outside with Alex and his friends. We weren't paying attention to what was on TV or what was being said as we were busy talking about work, but I heard it.

~Grandma Falicia’s POV~

A young woman crashed into me as I was departing for my check-up with Doctor Abbott. No one dared to challenge me. I didn't respond straight away for some reason, which is unusual for me. My gaze was drawn to the child who was bawling. Javier, my grandson, looks just like that boy. He is like a mini Javier.

Is it possible that Javier has a son that I am unaware of?

I've been pleading with him and Sandra to start a family. I urged Javier to propose to that girl the first year he met her, but he refused to commit. I'm not sure why he decided to propose now.

"Is that even possible?"

"Today at the hospital, I met a boy. The boy came in with his mother terrified. Just like you, he's also allergic to brinjals and chickpeas." Javier burst out laughing.

"Grandma, just because a boy has the same allergies like mine, doesn't mean he's mine, come one."

~Gabriella’s POV~

I completed my task with Hills Group International at precisely noon on Sunday. I was so exhausted that I packed all of my equipment into the suitcase I typically bring to work on weekends. Because I lacked a larger bag, I opted for a piece of luggage to store my stuff. I hailed a taxi to Mrs. Hills' residence. I was dragged along with my luggage. I approached the gates of a colossal home, much too large for a stand-alone woman. There was a large yard and plenty of space for a toddler to run about. The property had a swimming pool, and the mansion was suitable for a queen. Xander was swimming with Mrs. Hills when I spotted him. I could see my son's enthusiasm. Two helpers and a couple of bodyguards kept an eye on them while they swam. I greeted the two helpers and bodyguards who were around. I overhear Xander speaking to Mrs. Hills.

"Grandma, look! I can float! I did it!"

That image brought tears to my eyes. Xander never had anyone except for me, Chloe, and Alex. Hearing him address Mrs. Hills' grandmother moved me to tears. I never met my parents. I have no idea what they looked like. I saw a bench and took a seat there to watch my son swim with Mrs. Hills. She then fixed her gaze directly on me.

"Oh child, I was not expecting you to arrive this early," she inquired, with a broad grin on her face. “How was work?” she asked.

"Tiring. Since yesterday, I haven't slept well. I barely got a couple of hours of shuteye. Relaxing at home is all I want to do." A scowl flashed on her face as she called out to a staff member,

~Gabriella's POV~

I picked Xander up after work and we drove to Chloe and Alex's condo. When I entered and parked the car, they were sitting outside. Alex was taken aback. He rushed over to me.

"Where did you obtain the money to purchase a $3-8 million car?” My eyes widened.

"What do you mean?"

"This car you are driving is worth $3-8 million. Gabby, I can think of just one person from whom I could obtain this car without hesitation: Xander's father."

"How come you believe that he is the only one who can afford the car?"

"Do you recall the first time you met him? Are you aware of what you drank?
