HER BESTFRIEND IS A MAN
Daniel sat near his leather chair and looked at himself on the dark TV. There was no noise in the apartment apart from the occasional traffic rumbling around his window. "I feel so much love for my girlfriend," he said quietly, barely heard over the silence, "but she sees her best friend as a man." What is there for me to do?" The question had been bothering him for weeks and wouldn't leave him alone. He figured Cindy wouldn't be able to relate to how he was feeling. She was sure of herself, did her own thing, and stood up for her friendships all the time. If Daniel tried to act too possessively, it always seemed to smother her, so he tried to be more patient. However, the doubt refused to leave, making a difficult time in his life even worse. He took his phone and looked through his list of contacts, spinning the wheel over her name. How could he react? How was it possible for him to share his doubts without being demanding or childish? Once Daniel had put the phone down, he leaned back and closed his eyes. It occurred to him many times: What should he do?
