Reclaiming My Path
When his partner's ashes were placed in the cemetery, his son uncovered the other side of the headstone where the name had been pasted. It was the name of my old partner, Bai Yueguang. I questioned my son, but my son said: "Mom, you are a rural woman, with the responsibility to tie up Dad, a senior engineer for life, you should be satisfied! They are gone, you should fulfill the long-cherished wish of these bitter lovebirds!" My granddaughter regretfully said, "Grandpa and Grandma Zhang were born in different burial places and died in the same cave, it's the last thing we can do for their unwavering love." I was vaporized alive in front of the tombstone. Opening my eyes again, I returned to the day my college acceptance letter was given to my husband as his white moon.
