This book contains the complete D'Artagnan novels in the chronological order of their original publication. - The Three Musketeers - Twenty Years After - The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later (which includes "The Vicomte of Bragelonne", "Louise de la Vallière" and "The Man in the Iron Mask") The D'Artagnan Romances are a set of three 19th-century novels by Alexandre Dumas, telling the story of the 17th-century musketeer D'Artagnan. In the English translations, the 269 chapters of the last novel (The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later) has been usually split into three, four, or five individual books. Our edition is faithful to the original text by not splitting the novel.

Alexandre Dumas "fils" was the illegitimate son of a Paris dressmaker and the renowned author of "The Three Musketeers." Dumas "pre" took him from his mother as a child (French law then allowed that), and gave the child a marvelous education at schools that included the Institution Goubaux and the Collge Bourbon — but he could not take from the child the memory of his mother. Dumas "fils" spent much of his life writing of the loss of her — in works like "Camille" and this novel, "The Son of Clemenceau." Alexandre Dumas "fils" died at Marly-le-Roi, Yvelines, on November 27, 1895; he is buried in the Cimetire de Montmartre in Paris.

The Three Musketeers (French: Les Trois Mousquetaires) is a novel by Alexandre Dumas, père, first serialized in March–July 1844. The Lady of the Camellias premiered at the Théatre du Vaudeville in Paris, France on February 2, 1852. An instant success, Giuseppe Verdi immediately set about to put the story to music. His work became the 1853 opera La Traviata with the female protagonist "Marguerite Gautier" renamed "Violetta Valéry". In the English-speaking world, The Lady of the Camellias became known as Camille and 16 versions have been performed at Broadway theatres alone. The titular lady is Marguerite Gautier, who is based on Rose Marie Duplessis, the real-life lover of author Dumas, fils.
